Savage Hunger (Tall, Dark, and Deadly Book 7)

Gripping read
I’ve been waiting for Savage’s story (aka Rick to no-one but his lost love!!) since we first me him in the Walker Security books, so much so that I binge read Savage Hunger in less than a day!! I’ve said it before and I’m positive I’m likely to say it again in the near future but Lisa Renee Jones kills me with these cliff-hangers..... ultimately in the best way, even if I do want to toss my kindle at a wall in frustration until I’ve calmed down!! This first book in the trilogy was a bit of a deep dive into Savage and Candace’s history, their present day connection to Rick’s current ‘job’ and an insight into just how good this pair can/could be together. LRJ does dislikable characters well, take for example Candace’s fiancé who I want to hit - or even better, I want Savage to hit... and never stop.... - but of course, that wouldn’t help anyone and the douche will therefore have a stay of execution until we can figure out WTF he’s up to and involved in.... (sorry, got a little red mist in y eyes there...) and who all the players are and, most importantly, what the endgame is!?!This book was packed with action, suspense, twists, anticipation, heat and steam, just what you’d expect from one of my favourite, go-to authors..... I’m (not so) patiently waiting for Savage Burn, book two in the series, to find out what the hell is happening.... 5 savagely deserved stars for this gripping read.

Loving this series so far
Well I’ve read a few of the books this link to Savage and love his character so decided to read his story, and so far it doesn’t disappoint. Like the character of Savage and Candice. This is going to be a real gripper , lots going on and plots to understand. Need to start the next book now

Okay read
Not a complete book but part of a series abs ends on cliffhanger. Don’t really like either candace or Rick and whilst story is okay I’ll not be reading the rest.

Past and present collide
Reviewed by Emma-Louise on behalf of KFFSecond chance romances have and always will be my favourites. There’s no need for getting to know one another, there’s always chemistry from the outset. Always chock full of enough fuel to start a five-alarm fire. I live for the crash and burn of a second chance. I thrive on the insurmountable odds being concurred. The past being burned down around the couple and the phoenix that will soar above, emerging from the ashes of its smouldering carcass.Nothing could have prepared me for the impact of Rick and Candace. Avoidance and repression had been Rick’s drug of choice. He became a professor in the art of staying the heck away from his past. That is until he’s forced back to where it all began. Knowing that he has no other choice than to face the only woman who had ever slain the savage beast thriving and devouring his soul.Candace can handle herself, most assuredly knows her way around a gun, blame that on her upbringing if you will. She can kick butt and take names, she made one hell of an impact on me in the first few pages. She impressed me more than I can articulate. I love a woman who can be tough and then soft. She switches from one to the other like I flick through pages of a book. I could quite easily become her number one cheerleader.Suspense, action and romance; what more could a gal ask for? As is typical for this author, the story hits the ground running. No build-up, just typical wham bang thank you, ma’am.Questions, half-truths, and huge abandonment issues are only a few of the issues Candace and Rick have to rebuild from. Candace takes no prisoners, forcing Rick to answer for his past mistakes. He owns them all, open and vulnerable. Body as hard as granite with a heart as soft as cotton wool. She owns him lock, stock and barrel and all she has to do is open her heart and turn the key. Heat and passion surround them. It’s almost as if they’re bathing in the flames of intensity. But hold the phone; could this book get any better? Oh baby, I’m only teasing. I cannot wait to get the sequel in my greedy little hands. But wait! Be prepared. This five-alarm inferno ends on a cliff hanger. Be prepared to want to throw your Kindle around, instead take a moment and breathe. To do this would mean one sadly upsetting thing. How would you read the sequel?Thank you, Ms. Jones, for once again reminding me why I relish reading.
