SlideBelts Men's Classic Belt - Custom Fit

Having been through many belts in 1 year, the holes always tear and looks horrible. I found Slidebelts on Amazon and I though I would give it a try (since I tried just about every belt in the past, from Calvin Klein to Tommy Hilfiger). I open the box and attached the belt to the buckle. It is heavy, appears very sturdy and well built. The style is classy and the Matte Black buckle complements any pants. The leather belt material appears very well made is very flexible (which translates into comfort). Upon trying it on I was hooked (literally). The belt adjusts to just about any size and is extremely easy to adjust. If the belt is to tight while sitting, just lift the latch and loosen the belt, and when standing simply pull the belt to tighten it (no need to even lift the latch). I was worried about how securely it grips, but I find the grip very tight and secure. One important note: cut the belt 1 to 2 inches bigger than your pants size (I cut mine to small). Would I buy this kind of belt again? 100% YES.

My husband is always on the lookout for a good, universal belt and he has been very pleased with this one. It’s sturdy, easy to adjust, and stays in place! Plus you can dress it up or down, which is always a plus!!

Slidebelts are the best belts I've ever owned. And I'm not normally a fan of braided / ratchet type belts. A year or two ago I found that my belts were always tearing near the eyelets. Maybe it is the fact that I'm 10-15 pounds heavier than I used to be, or maybe it was the fact that I like a tight belt. Whatever the cause, I was having to buy a new belt every 3-5 months. In terms of durability, Slidebelts have exceeded my expectations. My first one finally gave out after about a year of use. Since I had a positive experience, this is my second slide belt. Here is my breakdown of pros & cons: PROS: - More durable in my case than any other belt I've owned - Cut-to-fit. I start out a little long and if starts to wear near the buckle, I just snip it off and re-insert the belt part. - Size adjustment is pretty granular, so you can get just the right fit when tightening it around your waist. - Can also buy just the leather portion without the buckle when your old one does finally fail. CONS: - The finish on my old gunmetal buckle started to chip, but since I never tuck in my shirt, I really didn't care. - On my old belt, the latch that holds in the leather would occasionally flip open causing the buckle to detatch and the belt to come apart. But the latch feels much more secure so far on the new belt. Not sure if that will fade over time. With the old belt I resorted to putting 2 drops of super glue in there to help hold it together. It worked, but when I needed to remove it, it required a little extra force to get open. It was an acceptible workaround for me with the old belt, but I'm hoping my new one doesn't have the same issue. - I have occasionally nudged the release lever while doing various things which causes the belt to loosen a bit. (maybe 2-3 times over the year) The cons certainly are not enough to keep me from purchasing this product, but it was enough to deduct one star.

There are a few different versions of the click or slide belt on Amazon, and this is the absolute best version. The interior of the belt is marked to you can cut it to your desired waste size. The locking mechanism won't come undone unless you want it to. I've bought other versions of this type of belt, where the locking mechanism is a button on the under side of the buckle. On those versions the belt can just slide loose at any time. This belt won't do that. The belt and the buckle are well engineered. This is my second slide belt and the only one I'll buy. 6 years later: I had at one point needed to replace the actual strap, because the leather was coming apart where it secures to the buckle. I chalked this up to normal wear and tear, and the buckle itself was fine. Today, the actual buckle snapped, and not in a place having to do with the actual mechanism (see photo). I stand by my previous review, even if it won't last forever. Thank you for your service, slide belt.

These belts are perfect in every way. Functional and good-looking... so much so, that I bought a second one. The quick-release buckle and ratchet- catch system is great if you need to get your pants off quickly (in case of fire or lies.) These belts are made such that if you own more than one, you can interchange the parts to make various combinations. The belt arrives in two pieces for self-sizing and assembly. You cut the belt-strap to your waist size and clamp it into the buckle. I was astounded to read that even if YOU make a dumb error and cut the strap too short, they will send a replacement. Who else will compensate me for my own stupidity? Even the packaging seems too cool to throw away.... and actually, I'd like the belt just as well if it came in a cheaper box and it cost a little less. But if it's a gift, the box will certainly be part of the experience.

I love how easy it was to adjust the size of the belt with the notches to cut the belt off at my perfect size. The belt is easy to use and holds in place well.

This belt did not look at all like the photo. The 'stiching' is molded and the same color as the uniform chocolate brown belt material. It looks incredibly cheap and I doubt it would last at all. Immediate return.

UPDATE: I just saw this review in my history, and figured I'd update it. So, after a few months, the detent keeping the belt flush wore out. It was rather annoying, and something I couldn't do anything about without replacing it. I tossed it somewhere, probably ended up using the belt to make something else, and completely forgot about it after replacing it. It was nice when new, kinda cool, but didn't last very long at all. I've since moved on to a belt with no moving parts, no holes, and quite a bit more adjustability. I haven't had this belt long, just under two two weeks. No complaints yet. The belt itself has measurements so you can cut to just the right size, and will cut clean with a nice pair of scissors. It's rather easy to install the buckle, and just as easy to remove if you were to swap with a different color belt. I ended up getting the mocha brown myself, simple and it goes great with just about everything (same with a simple tried and true black belt). The buckle feels solid, and seems like it'll last a good while. I've heard some complaints that it's too heavy, but I think that's to be expected from a full-face solid metal buckle. Even then, it's not excessive. The bottle opener is a nice little touch, the gunmetal finish is attractive. As for the operation itself, it's better than every other traditional belt I've owned. With the quarter-inch increments, it's quick and easy to get the right fit with whatever you're wearing. Removal is even quicker, in case of emergency (whatever the emergency is). Overall, I'm completely satisfied with this purchase thus far.

Enjoy this belt, fits comfortably and the slide belt buckle works nice and easy in my opinion. Even if this is "animal-friendly" leather (aka not leather) it still looks and feels good with a pair of jeans.

I was happy with my purchase until the metal broke and now I can't use the belt. Not sure if the belt was just faulty or if it's a permanent weakness in the belt. I just wore it as normal didn't throw it around or anything else. If I can't find a separate belt end then I wasted 100 dollars on a belt that is perfectly fine if it only had a new end.

Bought the belt a few Months ago and already having issues with it. Buckle finish is rubbing off but only aesthetic. Major problem is the teeth that looks in the buckle onto the belt material keep streaking out and I have to cut a piece of the belt everytime to renew it...this keeps happening every week or so...I will be running out of belt length pretty soon

Got if for my husband because he was always having to fidget with his belt to take it in and let it out. This seemed easier. Works in concept, but the buckle is constantly falling off the belt when he unbuckles it - extremely annoying (and loud, when the buckle hits the floor). It proved too annoying; he gave up on it and went back to a regular belt.

Learned about Slidebelts from purchasing one of their Survival ratchet belts. Really good quality. Looks good and very durable. Infinitely customizable fit. Very happy with this item and wear it regularly.
