A thought-provoking and educational discussion
This book is the account of a discussion between Sir Roger Penrose (Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford) and Dr. T. D. Singh (Scientist with a Ph.D. degree from University of California and Spiritualist in Bhakti-Vedanta tradition of India) on life, consciousness, and reality as we perceive it.The discussion covers a wide range of subjects like Quantum Mechanics and its applications, the origin of life, consciousness and its origin, science and its relation with religion, the meaning and nature of reality, and many more. What I appreciated the most in this book is the holistic approach towards every argument and the openness with which both individuals accept each other’s points. This conversation between these two eminent individuals, belonging to different fields of study, was thought-provoking and to some levels, rendered me contemplative. There are a lot of changes going on in the field of research and consequential shifts in the paradigm are taking place, so much so that the quest for answers to the mysteries of the world is gaining momentum again. If you are in any way part of the scientific or spiritual world or if you are someone who is curious about the world in general, this book will surely be an interesting pick for you.
