Amazing, heartbreaking and gripping
Wow what a story! I'm absolutely loving the kids books! This is Griffin and Ivy's story.Ivy has had a crush on Griffin from a young age but he never noticed her. She has always been overlooked for her more vibrant sister so she just accepted it as it is. But when Griffin comes back after being discharged she heads home to check on him. What she finds is not the Griffin she knew.Griffin is on a dark path. After seeing and doing things no one should whilst on tour he can't seem to escape his own mind. His guilt makes him want to stay there. He's trying his best to forget and using alcohol as a means. He wants nothing to do with anyone. Not even his parents as he can't look them in the eye. When Ivy turns up looking for him his bitterness takes over but she refuses to let him hide and tries to help him as best she can. Griffin wants her to go away but somehow he keeps managing to pull her closer. Griffin needs to sort out his own problems before he drags Ivy down with him and gets her hurt but she's the only one who gives him peace in his time of need.Awwwwww poor Griffin! My heart actually broke for him. I hated that he felt he had to isolate himself from everyone and that he actually believed he was a bad person. Honestly sometimes it was so hard read. The pain he went through in his own mind was awful. Thankfully Ivy never gave up on him even when he was being hurtful towards her.Ivy was such a sweetheart! I loved her! There were parts i wanted to give her hug and tell her to hang on in there. I didn't blame Griffin he wasn't in his right mind but the poor girl went through the ringer to help him. She has such a beautiful soul and her feelings for him carried her through even when most would have give up. Griffin is a very lucky boy she's always loved him!I can't praise the writing enough in this one. This subject is always going to be a tough one but this was done brilliantly. It actually felt like reading a biography at some points it felt so realistic. The torture of PTSD is hard to get right but Marie James hit expert level. You can tell that research was done to get this right. The storyline will pull you in from start to finish. I found myself not being able to put it down not even to go to the loo, Griffin and Ivy came with me! lolAs always it's amazing to see all the other characters from past books, i love those guys so much!I can't wait for more! I never want this series to end! Ever!Highly recommend. You could probably read this as a standalone but the rest of the series is equally as awesome. Give them a go because this series is incredible. This one is heartbreaking at times but thankfully your heart will be rebuilt, piece by piece by the end. Big smiles for Ivy and Griffin!5 Incredible Stars

Love this Series!
Wow! Griffin’s story is another phenomenal edition to the Cerberus MC Series. SOOOO GOOD!Griffin has been discharged from the marines, and not doing well. He’s closed himself off from everyone that wants to help him. That is until Ivy forces her way in...Can she help him see the light? Save him from the darkness that is threatening to take over him?I’ve found it really hard to put into words how good this book is. It was such an emotional read. Though touching on multiple sensitive subjects, it was beautifully written.Just can’t get enough of Marie James’s books. I could read them over and over. Highly recommend this series

Loved Griffin...
I'm not generally overly armoured by second generations in series but Marie James seems to have a knack with themI loved how well PTSD was depicted with brutal honesty but kept hope for suffers .This was such an amazing book, can't wait for more xx

Gut wrenching
I loved this book. To begin with I was hesitant because if you've read her other books you may think that there is something going on with Gigi, Ivy's twin, however, this is not the case. MJ very quickly squishes any doubts you may have about Griffin's intentions so if that's the only reason you aren't reading this book then trust me when I say you have nothing to worry about.Ivy has a big heart and loves unconditionally. When Griffin is discharged he's distraught and nothing soothes his worry like Ivy who is persistent and stands her ground where he is concerned. I loved that she wasn't a pushover for him considering how long she has had a crush on him and yet she is the perfect balance of standing by him when he needs.Griffin is kind at heart but due to the traumas of war he is wracked with guilt. Ivy silences his thoughts and settles him. There's no need to drown his sorrows in alcohol when she's around. He has the best intentions but paranoia from war gets the best of him. This plot is hard to describe. I have read many books about war and romance with people with PTSD but I have never read a book with the circumstances Griffin endured so I loved that this was different. This book contains issues surrounding PTSD, paranoia, death and alcoholism all dealt with sensitively.I recommend this book to anyone looking for a gut wrenching romance; especially if you love war books.
