It's a nicly made bit well constructed with a nice glossy black powder coat finish. It chews through the ground like you can't believe. Just make sure you have a powerful drill if you get the 4". I even have a good amount of quarter-size rock and roots in a few spots where I was using it. It helps tremendously to cut through the roots if you sharpen the cutting edge with a grinder. Makes planting very easy. Very versatile I'd go as far as to say it's not just for planting use it to easily soften up the soil, or to help mix in fertilizer or any plant feed you have, or use it as a paint mixer or to even use it as a post hole digger to start and/or mark where you need the poles to be placed.

Great for existing flowerbeds with medium to soft soil. Will work with harder soil, however, will need a strong drill. I used with my battery drill, and it worked well. Makes digging holes for planting much easier and not on the knees with a small shovel. Pulls dirt away from the hole to allow you to drop the plant in.

Better quality than I expected. Appears to be powder coated as well. Makes planting seedlings and small plants quicker and easier than ever. I was able to plant 4 flats (48 plants) in under 10 minutes, probably under 5.

Auger works great. The only issue was the bit was having trouble staying in. But it could be my drill. Had to put something on the bit to hold it in the drill. Other than that, it's a good buy.

I never knew about items like this. I am in my 70’s and digging is t so easy anymore. It was simple and worked great. It works better with an electric drill rather than my battery operated drill. I was done in minutes with each hole. Absolutely love it.

Love this item. Makes planting easy. Broke one when I hit a rock. But had to get another cause it saves me so much time and energy verde digging with a shovel.

I live in an area with hard clay soil. Both augers have a weak hex end like the one used on a driver bit holder. I used an adapter to connect my 1/2" square impact drill and 3.5" auger and the adapter snapped after a 10 minutes. The drill clearly was too much for the auger. While the 3.5" auger worked, it was great for replanting annuals in small pots. The 1.5" auger is good for small bulbs and requires much less torque so it is good. The 3.5" auger could be significantly improved if it had a strong square 3/8" or even 1/2" end like a ratchet.

Works well - use caution around roots - it will grab hard and twist your wrist - you’ll do that once - then pay close attention after that - glad I found this !!

These items have made planting garden center vegetable starters so easy, or breaking up my raised gardens in the spring and fall before and after season.

I can't compare this to other products as I've never used anything like this before. It was great to receive 2 different sizes. I needed to dig a hole for an in ground gate latch. I was really trying to keep my expectations in check, my drill is cheap, I have all sorts of hand and back problems, I've never done anything like this before, I didn't know if there was cement or giant rocks down there... this tool made it so easy! I poured water over the area to soften the soil then used the small one first and then the big one and I was able to make a decent size 22cm-ish deep hole in less than 20 minutes with minimal struggles, fill it with cement and a pole, and emasculate every man I've ever met. All in a days work. 10/10.

🥵After struggling all day to remove a very old bush root ball, I ordered one of these via next day delivery. 🚚 Whereas before, I couldn’t get to the deep roots with my spade, iron bar or mattock, I used the large auger to dig down each side of a root allowing me to get my tree croppers in. 👍 Job completed in lest than an hour 😊 In terms of quality and sturdiness, I’d say I gave it a tough old test (inc encountering the odd stone 😬) hence 5 stars.
