A classic drum synth worth every penny (to me)
If it's in your budget I would encourage the buy. It's not new, it's not ideal for sampling, but if you like putting together your own sound this is a great instrument! Sequencing is simple, but multiple ways of arranging your tracks makes this deeply powerful. Not for sampling musicians, but for everyone else it's an incredible tool. Very menu-divey interface, but most things are clear. Those are my only complaints, but they're valid in deciding. Great sound, great sequencer, weak on-board storage, menu-driven.

Super tight
Makes super tight sounds while making you feel like you're at the head of a spaceship terminal. Might need some kind of off-planet STEM degree in order operate it well, but you could probably get by with with a skimming the manual. Also, the sequencer switches make a very satisfying click. Would be great to sample them for your next minimal techno banger.

Elektron Analog Rytm mk2 unparalleled sound
Simply incredible! Exceeded my expectations as far as Elektron’s Analog sound goes. The unit itself—from manufacturer—unfortunately does not sit level on desktop surface and requires the use of a plastic shim to sit under the rubber foot of unit. May have been defective product. Not sure.
