SauconyMen's Guide 14 Running Shoe

Very stable and comfortable
Excellent shoes. I replaced my Saucony Guide 9 with these shoes, so you can tell how long I held onto my old running shoes. The shoes are made for runners who overpronate their feet; it has a piece of hard-density foam and plastic on the inside of the sole molded into the shoes to guide the foot back to level.Resist the temptation to replace the laces. They feel like foam and are dynamic laces, so there is some stretching. Also don't replace the insole. After running 6 miles in these shoes, the insole is plenty adequate.

Win some, lose some.
These shoes were purchased based upon online recommendations for neutral runners with flat feet. They are nice looking, well made shoes. However, after a couple of times out, I began to develop pain and stiffness in my ankles which turned into foot flop to the point I would have to stop after only 2 miles. I noticed the soles weren't very shock absorbent and a little stiff. I tried different insoles, lacing patterns, and levels of snugness. No relief. I went back to my Brooks Ghosts to get back on track. Like I mentioned, these aren't bad shoes. They just aren't for every runner. I will still wear them, only not for running.

Firmest Guide since the Guide ISO
These are a great looking version of Saucony’s Guide series, with a simpler, cleaner look and thick, spongy laces that AREN’T TOO LONG (Guide Iso), and don’t easily come untied on their own.But they are also the firmest footbed of any Guide since the Guide Iso. Significantly firmer than the Guide 13, Guide 10, and Guide 8.If you’re coming directly from the 13 like I was, you’ll notice the difference right away, and it takes some getting used to. It was so firm at first that I seriously thought about returning them, then looked online into whether or not I should try breaking them in, and if the ride would soften over time.Thankfully, it has, and they’re proving to be a good running shoe. The uppers are very lightweight and so breathable that they remind me of Nike Huarache type uppers. The upper is soft and comfy, though, and needed no breaking in, while providing excellent ventilation and good space in the toe box.The heel counter on this one is pronounced and so soft and almost squishy that it’s easy to crush down if you don’t hold onto it while inserting your foot. I prefer a bit more stiffness back at the heel, but I can’t argue with the comfort and softness. We’ll see if it holds up over time.I’ve been very happy with Saucony’s Guide line of shoes over the years, and the fact that they’re available in different widths as well as sizing. They’ve always been a quality shoe for running thats worth the money.

Perfect Shoe to Fix Severe Pronation
I bought this shoe because my smart watch (also my leg pain & shoe sole wear pattern) made me aware that I was beginning to pronate a lot on one foot while I ran, making my stride asymmetric. This caused some mild tendonitis, and I made the decision to pull the trigger on these shoes. Let me be clear...THESE SHOES ARE INTENSEThere is a hard piece of TPC plastic for medial arch support and it WILL feel uncomfortable at first on the foot/feet that have issues. This plastic support is intense. It drives right into your arch and doesn't budge. I was genuinely concerned that my ankle would sprain while I ran, but I trusted the shoes and it felt like learning proper stride all over again. Within 2 weeks my stride is back to being perfectly symmetrical, my pronation is gone, and the shoes feel 100% comfortable. Trust me when I say this, the shoes being uncomfortable is probably a sign that you need them lol.

Finally found the right shoe
So after doing research I figured out that I "overpronate" all of my shoes wore out on the big toe first, in fact it didn't take long for my big toe to be out over the tread. I have tried a couple different shoes and some inserts to no avail..until I found the guide 14. When I first put them on I did not feel the support I was use too, normally in the arch but as soon as I started walking I felt the support more in the ankle area. I could tell this was the best shoe I have bought in a long time after only 2 or 3 of my daily walks...my knees feel much better, no pain! Thank you so much!

Much Improved
I have worn Saucony shoes for twenty years, but the Guide 13's I bought in 2021 were a disappointment. They were fine except that they started to tear at the collar after a few runs and they really looked crappy. But I decided to give the Guide 14's a chance, and these have been great. I've got over 200 miles on each of the two pairs I own, and they're holding up just fine. I think they do provide some extra support without feeling stiff. Very comfortable shoes and they don't feel clunky at all.I read the review talking about resisting the temptation to replace the laces. Before the I received these shoes, I wondered what they were talking about. I must have missed the memo about these new stretchy laces. I'd never had anything like them before, and I wondered what was up the first time I tied these laces up. But I really like the laces. No need to double knot them when you tie your shoes, and they never come untied. Pretty neat.Once again, I ordered a half-size larger than I would with any other brand of shoe. For whatever reason, Saucony shoes seem to run a bit small. But going with a half-size larger seems to work for me.

Pathetic
Aaah, the old ‘send him size 9 even though he’s ordered an 8.5’ anyway trick. No, I’m an 8.5, running sizing is a little difference to Converse or slippers... avoid, I’ve now got to face refund and return nonsense so you don’t have to.

Perfekter Halt

Venditore serio e veloce, consigliato.
