She always happens to notice an extremely hot guy who runs around the apartment complex and parking lot, so she takes the time to enjoy the view. She finally gets to meet the hot man when he comes to her apartment on a possible fire call. Eventually the two start up a friendship and some type of non-relationship relationship that eventually turns into more and an actual relationship.Addy has a twin sister, Viddy, who happens to be blind, and while it is a sucky situation, she chooses to laugh and enjoy life instead of being depressed, upset and terrified of being blind. The story of how she loses her eyesight is somewhat comical because you can just picture the two young girls, but it was dangerous & both are lucky to be alive.While in this book there isn’t any drama in either Addy’s or Kettle’s jobs, there is plenty of drama in their personal lives, from siblings to ex-lovers to family members and some unsavory people who are definitely trouble. We learn of both Addy’s family background and current family situation and we also learn of Kettle’s family past which has created a clusterf*ck of a situation. We also get to know a couple of the MC members a little better, namely Trance, who has the two differently colored eyes and Loki who has a facial scar. We don’t learn about their backgrounds but we do learn about their current lives.I got quite a chuckle from Kettle going through sympathy feelings. I’m also glad that we got to see a little more of both Johnny and Blaise! Kids say and do the darndest things!I can’t wait for the next book, nor do I have any idea whose it may be. But I’m really hoping that it will be Trance and Viddy’s book or Loki’s book. Both possibilities are there, so I’ll just have to wait and see.

They strike up a friendship.Kettle is who Daddy turns to when her blind sister is left stranded by their junkie brother.Odd things are happening. Addy seems to be a target. There are ties to Kettle's past. Addy puts her trust in Kettle and his brothers in the Dixie Wardens MC. She feels safe with them. Addy and her sister know bikers, their daddy was one.Fast paces and steamy. Kettle had a lot thrown at him in his 34 years. He has lived through unbearable tragedy. Loved and a family beyond his MC family , was nothing he's was looking for. Addy brakes down his walls and steals his heart.Kettle makes a cute proposal. A nice epilogue to wrap their story.

You know how sometimes the first book in a series can be amazing but the next book just doesn’t live up to the first? Well, that sure as h#!! isn’t the case because in my opinion, Halligan To My Axe, was even better than Lights To My Siren. I laughed more, I cheered more for both Kettle and Adeline, I was wetter thanks to Kettle and his hose (yeah for this series the horrible puns are just going to happen, I can’t help it).I knew I would love Kettle just because of his reaction to one of Adeline’s umm pets. I fell in love with him even more after I learned about his past, and when he messes up and hurts Adeline, it was how fast he knows that he messed up that makes me forgive him and love him even more. I honestly had tears in my eyes about Kettle’s past and when he suffers another horrible event my heart broke for him.Adeline and her twin sister had me cracking up because if I closed my eyes I could picture these two not only picking on each other but on others as well. Adeline has a huge heart, not just for her sister but for Kettle and his MC family as well.I honestly can’t get enough of these men. Firemen are some of the bravest of the brave and my respect for them is sky high so it was a given that I would love Kettle. Okay I am just a sucker for a man who overall is a great guy, who knows when he makes a mistake and will protect his woman with every breathe he takes. This series has become one of my favorites and it is because these books are just heart warming, they make you feel good with a side of sexy man, are hilarious and leave you with a smile on your face when you are finished.

Loved this story of Adeline and Kettle! Living in apartment buildings next to each other, neither of them realize they are destined to meet.

Love this author

It took a while to get into this book. It seemed to jump around and make leaps and bounds through the plot without the necessary detail. I started to think why the author wasn't getting better the more books she writes, when suddenly, it did. The story came together with lots more detail, emotion, better characterization and storyline.This is Kettle and Adeline's story. They don't fall in insta love but over time which is a little bit more realistic. She is quite a fun character and at first I didn't warm to her but everything got better. Of course there are problems but there is a HEA.It is a different idea, hardcore bikers as firemen and cops. It has links to other books the author has written (Free). They balance the MC way if life with legitimate jobs.It could though be so much better with more detail covering the issues it raises. There is a difference between implying and being given enough details to understand. It's also only using threads that are integral to the story some were started and didn't go anywhere.Suitable for older readers due to content.

Argh Kettle, he melts me into a puddle of goo. What a dream boat he is! Addy is hilarious and her relationship with her sister has me rolling with laughter.That epilogue is one of the best ever!
