Easy to install
Got the lock set for my Mother, who is dependant on home care. Saves having to hand out hand fulls of keys or leaving the house unlocked and vulnerable. Only draw back, we were unable to key alike with our other quickset locks, ended up getting an extra set of keys for the family. Small price for peace of mind,

Excellent built, Easy Installation and Programming - Highly Recommended!!
I was looking for nice keyless locks to replace my 10-year-old Weiser locks. After a lot of research, I found this one to be one of the best option out there. After using it for more than 6 months now, I am extremely pleased with these locks. Going keyless was a great relief.BUILD QUALITY:Schlage FE595 is very well designed and looks very attractive. It is built like tank and finish and built quality is extra-ordinary. Overall construction and metal finish looks premium. Actually, now my door looks little outdated in comparison of this beautiful lock.INSTALLATION AND PROGRAMMING:I am not handyman kind of person at all. After few people quoted over $150, I thought to give it a try myself. Provided manual and instructions were easy to understand and it took only 20 minutes to install first lock. Once I figured it out, I installed second lock in less than 10 minutes. Lock comes with one programming code and two pre-programmed user access codes. Programming was fairly easy. I set up two new user codes and deleted pre-programmed codes in minutes. Programming password is 6 digit while user access code is 4 digit. You can program up to 19 passwords.FEATURES:I like the fact that keypad can be illuminated. Just press the Schlage button to illuminate the keys. Keys are soft and they do not stick at all.Lock features Grade 2 Higher Residential security rating which gives me good peace of mind.Though lock is keyless entry, it comes with a key which can be used in case of emergency if battery is completely dead. This scenario is quite unlikely because, lock features Low-battery indicator. Lock also comes with battery so you do not need to run to get the one while installing. Battery is the same as what you use in Fire and Smoke alarms. It should be noted that this lock features “Flex Lock”. What it does is when you keep thumbturn knob horizontal, it is always locked from outside. When you put knob in vertical position, it can be unlocked from outside.IMPORTANT:This lock is for doors with one deadbolt. If your current door has two deadbolts or two latch/lock points, then it will fit, but you have two options: (1) Either you keep older lock, but do not use it (install this lock in place of older knob) or (2) you keep older door knob and remove older lock (install in place of old lock). But in the later case, you need to now turn knob (from old lock) as well as lever (from this lock) to open the door. This is not desirable for one handed operation. I did not know this when I ordered and what I did is I removed old knob and used that holes to install this lock. I kept older lock which we do not use typically, but we lock both when we go for long trips for extra security.Overall Highly Recommended product.

Easy to install, reliable, and looks good.
I hate carrying keys. Plus making keys for all my kids is a bit of a pain not to mention security risk. I've purchased 4 of these locks over the past 4 year and have nothing but good experience. I wanted a keypad over a fingerprint reader because I may allow a guest over when I'm not home and I don't necessary want to program their fingerprint in. I also don't care about any z-wave type technology. I've used them before and find them less than reliable and much more hackable.I find the appearance of these locks to be very nice. There's different finishes so I'm able to find ones that match my decor. Installation is quite easy. Just remove the existing lock and this fits right in. The handle can be changed from right to left easily. On one of my doors, the striker plate didn't fit quite right and I ended up using the old striker plate. Other than that, I can do the whole installation in less than 30 minutes. I have the flex lock version which lets you lock and unlock the door manually. I don't always want the door locked. The keypad has worked flawlessly. Battery life has been great. Again, I don't always lock the door and therefore don't use much battery. I've not changed the battery since installation almost four years ago.In summary, these locks look nice, are easy to install. So far they've been 100% reliable.Update: I forgot to change out my battery, and the battery failed one time, locking me out. Do yourself a favor. Change the battery regularly, and have the keys hidden somewhere nearby.

Very happy with this keypad entry lock/lever
I read the reviews and for the most part they were great. I wasn't going to spend quite this much, but I didn't want a $25 lock either. I'm very happy I made the choice to get this lock.My son (14 years old) helped me install it - more like he held the tools for me because it was over within 20 minutes. Would have been quicker but I'm particular about the details so I move slowly. The only issue with installation that I had was getting the wires out of the way once I had the battery in place - but after a moment it became pretty logical how to place them. Programming it was a breeze, the instructions are very good for this. It took my son longer to decide what 4-digit code he wanted than it took me to program the entire thing otherwise. The locks are very nice looking (I got the Satin Nickel finish) and look like they're going to last a long time. The lighted keypad is nice and bright, and shines in a pleasant blue color as well. I have a standard door with a standard doorknob set up in it and this fit perfectly. The replacement plates were even nice quality, very solid.I've been using this for a month now and it's still working perfectly. When I have to replace the battery it seems like it should take maybe 10 minutes to do so - not bad whatsoever. I like that the inside handle works independently from the outside handle - so you can have it set up where it's locked from the outside but not from the inside (no more unlocking your door to leave your house, unless you're using a deadbolt or chain of course). Also I tested the key and it worked great too - may sound silly but it felt very solid and well made as well.Being able to program several codes is great - I have one code specifically that I can hand out to friends or neighbors if ever there's a reason to have them go into my house when I'm not home. Then I can easily change it if I need to afterward, without changing my own code.I would recommend this lock to anyone - it really is high quality and adds a neat little piece of technology to your life as well.Update, 1/8/13: A few months shy of 3 years of daily use (this is on my main outside door), and the original battery hasn't even worn out yet. There is no wear on the buttons (which would show which ones were hit the most often) - that's very important to me. I keep the instruction manual handy in the drawer because I've needed to create a new code a couple of times (and remove them later) for friends and the dog sitter to use. This is absolutely a 5-star product!

Easy to install and program - watch a video because the instructions are very small.
The media could not be loaded. The door lock came quickly. I like that the Schlage Fe595 that I got in Nickle has the ability to turn the lock off or have it automatically lock on door closure. It took about 10 minutes to do the installation. I had to change the one metal piece (provided) for the door locking mechanism and it took a minute to understand that you have to pry the rounded cornered face off an replace with the rectangular one. the wire routing was easy and the battery provided brought it to life immediately.Again without watching a video of the installation I think that I would have had a little trouble putting it together, but it feels solid in hand, looks good, and works well so far... only two days on the door. I got the one with the lever handles and they just push on and secure. There is a pin provided to remove them if you need to.My friend told me after the installation when I showed her the lock/handle, she has one on her office at work and one on her home and that they are very good door handle/locks.I recommend this product.
