Wilde Child: Wildes of Lindow Castle (The Wildes of Lindow Castle Book 7)

I originally ordered this in October 2019 but it was delayed until this year. I have loved this series, Ms James has a real gift for creating enchanting heroines and alpha heroes. She also creates believable and loveable supporting characters whose stories and love affairs seamlessly entwine the main heroine and hero. The description before this was published said Joan ran away to join a theatre troupe and Thaddeus followed to protect her. That was not quite how the book progressed so I was disappointed in the more staid storyline. Yes, it is a much better book than most out there, but I don’t think it is as good as her previous books, she seems bored with the Wildes and it shows. Joan’s story is lovely and tender, but Otis’ story was all tell and no show. Ditto Thaddeus’ mother’s. In this last twelve months, Ms James has completed My Last Duchess, Lizzie &Dante, an upcoming contemporary novel and is starting a new series. Wilde Childe has suffered, it could have been so much more. I give 3 stars because I did like Joan, but she deserved a better book.

Fantastic addition to the series. I enjoyed the story and found myself wistful for the hero and admiring the heroine. As great romance books should it left me wanting to read another one or re-reading the series.

I have enjoyed reading the whole of this series and this book was a pleasant read ,literally sat and read it in two sittings . These were characters you wanted to know and set within an interesting story .

I love how well Eloisa James writes about her families. I still hope to read more about Horatius!
