Phenomenal Start to a New Spin-off Series
Oh my heart, this one has a little of everything, and it's one of the absolute best emotional reads I’ve seen in a long time. Plus, it's loosely set in the Fatal world, so we get to catch up with some of our favorite characters.Roni Connolly lost her husband suddenly and way too soon. She spends her days and long, lonely nights mired in grief. Sure, she tries to put on a good face for her family, but she can’t seem to move beyond Patrick's death. It doesn’t seem real to her, to the point that she sees a man from behind that looks like Patrick, only to find, when he turns around, that he’s clearly not her beloved Patrick. With help from her sister, Roni connects with a group who call themselves the Wild Widows. They’ve all lost a partner and meet weekly to try to help each other. Instead of well meaning folks who offer flimsy platitudes or often say completely the wrong thing, Roni finds people who really understand the challenges of grief and the struggle to carry on with life. This is a story about overcoming grief, learning to live in a new reality, and finding a second chance at love. With some of the same excitement and drama we find in the Fatal series, Wild Widows series is all about healing and new beginnings. Brilliantly written, full of grace, healing and hope, this will be one of your most extraordinary reads of all time, so make sure you don’t miss it!

The beginning of a wonderful series
I was a fairly young widow 24 years ago. The sentences sent my way, the uncaring of family, and comments from too many people who think grief can be limited to a month, six months, or even a year. They were adding to the hurt. Then the pick-up lines from men about widows wanting frequent hook ups. Unbelievable! I approached the book, with a, "we'll see what Marie says." WOW! Marie tackled the grief and insensitive comments perfectly. But, in a way that you were along for the story as an unseen observer. You went through the emotions with Roni and I who am not a crier had tears in my eyes frequently. Marie Force is a master story teller who wraps you in the web of her story. I read it twice in 10 days and had trouble stopping for food and bathroom breaks both times. This is a story of the triumph of two grieving people who find each and their tomorrow.

What an AMAZING book!!
This book was so AMAZING that I just want to immediately start reading it again! I was so thrilled to find out who Roni wound up being attracted to and loved how Marie let them become friends for so long and then it slowly bloomed into more. Marie did an amazing job making you feel like a widow and understanding her pain and all of the other Wild Widows. I loved the interaction that we had with the Fatal Series with Sam and Nick! I absolutely love and adore them and getting to see them a little in this was great. I just loved it all so much and words can't describe how amazing it was. I truly wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars because it is the best book I have read this year for sure and since Marie's last Fatal series book. Absolutely amazing! You must read this book and note you don't have to have read Fatal series to enjoy it.

A 10 Star Story!
Wow Marie has done it again!I have always loved the way Marie Force tells a story. While telling Roni and Derek’s story she has managed to weave a truly heartwarming tale full of emotions but ending in a happily ever after. Marie’s writing transports you into the lives of two amazing characters you feel Roni’s strength/sorry and Derek’s patients/love. Truly amazing story. You also get introduced to many new characters and learn a bit about their stories, can’t wait to read more books in the Wild Windows Series.

Wonderful and so real!
2 facts: I don't write reviews, and I'm not Marie Force's normal demographic. Despite those points, I have thoroughly enjoyed and reread all 56 of her titles that I've purchased - so far. This one though, really touched me, and I have to write a review!I was 21 when my wife of 13 months died, while I was literally 10,000 miles away in Antarctica. We had been together 4 1/2 years. Yes, we were young. She had health problems, so we expected she would predecease me. But I was thinking years or decades, not months, most of which I was away on deployment. I went through all of the phases Ms. Force describes her "wild widows" going through: grief, disbelief, grief, guilt, grief, total loss of direction and goals, and more grief. I had to create a new version of myself.Although I was open to the idea of a Chapter 2, it took years to reach the point where that was even a possibility. Ten years later, almost to the day I said goodbye when my ship headed south, I remarried. We've been married 35 years now. Yes, I'm that old.In this book, Someone Like You, there wasn't a page that I didn't recognize something from my own life. There has been pain, acceptance, setbacks, loss of friends, and the knowledge that no one who hasn't gone through it will ever truly understand. Finally, there's the recognition that a new love is not replacing the first, but adding to your life that will always include your lost love.Thank you Marie Force for writing this story so superbly. I only wish I had had a "Wild Widows" club to join. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Beautifully written story about love after loss
A beautifully written story about second chances at love after loss. I love the Fatal series, and Roni’s tragedy was heartbreaking. I loved the bond she formed with Sam and the support she has received. The way she met Derek and was confronted by him over and over was very entertaining, and it created a connection between them from the start. As gut wrenching as her grief was, the hope she still carried with her was beautiful. I enjoyed their slow build from friendship to acknowledging their attraction to taking their time for more. These two have been through so much. I thought the story was very well written. There could be so many issues that come between them along the way, but they were so open and honest about their feelings. I loved it. The Wild Widows group is an amazing source of support and friendship during their lowest moments. I loved every moment with that group, and I really look forward to more of their stories.

An incredibly touching and beautifully written story.
Wow, I really don't know what else to say. This story is incredibly touching, at times tough to read, and it really makes you think. But OMG did I love and devour it, not only because it features three of my favourite characters EVER! But because it was just so beautifully written and heartfelt and I'll be honest, it's been sitting on my Kindle since its release but I wasn't sure I was ready to read it, and now I can't believe I waited even though at times Roni's journey to her chapter two almost tore my heart out.Yet seriously, it is a fantastic story and possibly the best Ms Force has ever written and I can't wait to read more from these incredible resilient wild widows in the future.Would highly recommend.

I'm just speechless...
I always look forward to a new book from Marie Force and suffice it to say that I wasn't disappointed. As I read Someone Like You I found that I often had an emotional lump in my throat and tears hovered close by. It's a story at a second chance of love following tragedies of the worst kind for Roni and Derek. It was, simply put, a wonderful and emotional read. Thank you Marie for providing us all with another brilliant literary escape.

Beautiful, poignant story.
This was a beautiful poignant story that takes you on the emotional rollercoaster experienced by young widow, Roni, as she learns to live without her young husband following his tragic death. Tissues were frequently needed, but there were plenty of moments to smile at too as she finds friendship and support when she is invited to join a lovely group called the Wild Widows. Through the group she unexpectedly finds someone who not only helps her through her grief but also helps her to find love again. I've read and enjoyed all of Marie's books but this one has touched me deeply. I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

SUCH a good read
Sometimes books which link to a well love series like the Fatal series can disappoint, but this book is a wonderful story and sits well with the other stories. The emotions were told as if they had been lived by the author and I found the book impossible to put down. I now have to wait to read next one☹️ But I will be looking out for it. Well done Marie and thank you.

great book
What a powerful and emotional story. It was truly wonderful to read their journey to each other. This couple had weathered the worst that life could deal them and start to come out the other side. I adored the idea of the widows club. I was hooked from the first page to the last and I can’t wait to read the next book now.
