This is a lovely clock and will be perfect once I get my new kitchen built. The clock is a good display size and, for the moment, it is where my old clock was which is a rather cramped space for a clock of this size - it would be best displayed with more space around it to show it off.The clock has no glass or plastic cover so the hands are exposed but they were well protected with a plastic blister when it arrived. I suppose these may be a little fiddly to clean in the future but it only arrived yesterday so I don't know.Other than the look of the clock, the main reason I wanted a new clock was to have a second hand for when I am cooking certain things. This hand is very clear and the seconds are easy to see as each cream section has 5 seconds in it and each second, or minute, has a clear mark.The clock face has a good thickness to it, about 8mm and sits about 10-12mm away from the wall. Feels good quality and solid.It comes with 2 big picture hooks with little spikes for knocking into the wall (you only need 1) though for now I am using the existing screw that sticks out from the wall. This screw possibly is effecting how far it hangs from my wall. If you use the picture hook, it will just need a little bash to knock into the wall.You need a single AA battery to activate it. The hand movement is smooth and continuous.The reason I have only given it 4 stars is that it isn't silent and there is a quiet whirr or very fast ticktockticktock.It is NOT like a grandfather clock that has a slow tick-tock-tick-tock for every second.For this reason I wouldn't recommend it for a bedroom if any noise annoys you at night but, in a kitchen setting, there is usually some noise going on and you really don't notice it. I work at my desk about 14 feet away from it and I can't hear it at all even without anyone else using the kitchen and the house is silent.Design wise it is beautiful and I think it would suit perfectly in many styles of room. I plan to have a very modern white gloss, black top and duck egg walls for my new kitchen with tasteful and not-so-plain bits and pieces but it would equally look superb in a shabby chic sort of room or a more traditional room, but do give it space if you can. At the moment mine only has about an inch each side of it but when the kitchen is done it will have whole wall for it above a shelf.

This is a beautiful clock and it is a nice quality for the price.Delivery was within one day - there is another supplier that takes several weeks I noticed.The hands were in place and guarded by a piece of hard plastic. I have another shabby chic clock in my kitchen that I bought from USA amazon a few years ago but we had to fit the hands and the hands were flimsier than this clock.Would definitely recommend. It is not an oversized clock so be conscious of the size.

This is a lovely clock intricate and delicate design. It feels good quality and well packaged. My only complaint is the white version is much more expensive than the cream version and it is still a creamy colour which doesn’t go so well in a white room. But the actual clock is really nice despite the colour.

Really wanted a clock with no tick, as it drives me mad, also needed something to blend in with the wallpaper. Won on both counts, I think!Keeps very good time and exactly what I wanted.

Clock has stopped working eight months after purchase. It seems the hands are on a very flimsy mechanism and for no apparent reason now get in each other’s way, hence the whirring sound and no hand movement. Would ask for a replacement but can find nowhere to lodge this request with the supplier.

Keeps perfect time and 100% silent. Not sure why it won't run on standard Duracell batteries and you need to buy special ones. Very nice design and easy to read.

Good looking clock and indeed completely silent. Love it! To complete the French theme I also bought a grey and blue canvas of a Parisian scene.

This clock is gorgeous and is completely silent (which was the ONLY prerequisite and a deal breaker). Very easy to install, requires 1 battery. Really happy with my purchase and so pleased that I can't hear it!! Definitely recommend.
