Glad I purchased this book for my collection. Great information. Knowledge is power.

Gives a great understanding of the cultural and social issues that lead the Underground Railroad. The intricacies of those responsible for getting the word out to the brethren that help lead the fight for black freedom. The man most responsible for getting the fires burning in the souls of his fellow brothers. This book brings home the Black mans struggles and intelligence in keeping the star to freedom shining. Great historical value.

I have been planning to Re-read this for several years. A classic historical treatise by an African American published in 1829 describing the struggles against racist tyranny in the abhorrent system of slavery and the failure of America live up to its ideals.

Excellent read. And Walker’s “untimely death” is self-explanatory as he speaks to the crux of power, dominance, and democracy blindness—Slavery Capitalism. His critique of pious slaves towards revolution freedom: Jefferson’s logic offers insight. And present today. Allen’s Appeal constitutes his death. An Appeal worth notice in 2021.

Heart felt. Deep and awakening to what you thought, but told by someone who experienced it and wanted more for us. Sad, to see a lot of us still have the SLAVE mentality today and don't even see it. This is a book ALL BLACK PEOPLE SHOULD READ

I took my first A-A history class at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY in the late 90's. My professor Dr. John Walker was a superb lecturer. He provided the class with a copious amount of information on ancient African civilizations and kingdoms. This book was one of his most important reveals to our class. I am greatly indebted to him.
