Daniel Smith watercolors are fantastic. I bought Lunar Black and it has a beautiful granulating quality that I cannot get in any other paint - the texture is amazing, I add it into other colors when I need granulation and it creates a beautiful separation effect with other pigments (like the blue in the background of this painting). I also love the texture on it's own for any rough areas (like this dog's nose).That being said, I ordered this without checking carefully and for the price I paid I thought I was getting the larger 15ml tube. But I got a 5ml tube instead :( It must have been an oversight because I was scrolling through the colors and I just assumed it was the 15ml tube for the price! So check carefully to make sure you're buying the right size, I overpaid A LOT for this 5ml tube.I still adore it though :) <3

Does granulate a bit, keep in mind. but if you need a solid black, this is perfect. A little goes a long way. These bottles are incredibly small but again, a little goes a long way. Don't listen to the people saying the seals don't work/paint exploded out when they opened the lid and are deeming them fake daniel smiths.. most paint tubes do that if they're too warm and from elevation changes with shipping. I popped mine in the fridge, tried opening it again and didn't have any issues.

Cool granulating black. When mixed with other colors they will granulate too. Don’t mix on regular palette or you will end up making all your colors granulating.
