Annie 1999 Television Film

I confess, I love the play Annie. When I start watching it, I get a grin on my face that doesn't go away until it's over. What this says about me, I'm not sure, but it's true. I was delighted when Disney made this TV version of the stage show. Now, I could actually watch something much closer to the original then the 80's movie. When I realized that there was a soundtrack available, I went out and bought it. I've found it has the same effect on me the stage version does. I've got a grin on my face and I sing along with every song. The cast is fabulous. The fact that they're having fun comes through with every word sung. And all the songs I love from the musical are present and accounted for. "Tomorrow," "NYC" (with a fun cameo), "You're Never Fully Dressed without a Smile," and "I Don't Need Anything but You" are just some of the highlights of this fun collection. Granted, they did leave out a couple from the original, but I've got the original cast recording if I really miss them. There are a couple downsides, however. Kristin Chenoweth's roll is too small for her talent. But, since this is in keeping with the original, I find I can over look it. My bigger problem is finding myself walking down the street singing these songs for several days after hearing it. "Little Girls" and "Easy Street" can get you some mighty strange looks. Trust me. Whenever I need a boost, I put this CD in the player and enjoy. Definitely worth buying for any fan of Annie or musicals in general.

SO happy to finally have the soundtrack to my favorite version of Annie. I like the softer version of Tomorrow in this one but, really, the biggest plus is the incredible vocals by Audra McDonald. The numbers by the orphans have the appropriate vim and vigor and the duets between Annie and Daddy Warbucks are wonderful (LOVE Victor Garber's take on Daddy W!). I didn't know a soundtrack of this version existed for years and just happened across it one night. I couldn't be happier with the purchase!

Love the TV movie! Especially love the TV-version soundtrack! A truly enjoyable, uplifting experience with a great cast! Whether you've seen the movie or not, you'll enjoy this soundtrack. It will lift your spirits to a whole new level. One of my top-ten favorite soundtracks, and I've collected hundreds! I highly recommend this for anyone at any age. Absolutely love it!

This version is done by Disney and it more for kids. It seems kind of amateurish to me. The stage show is better. Alicia Morton has a beautiful voice. It is just not strong enough for this role and she is too sweet for the role. I think she was great as Young Cossette. I did not like the 1982 movie version either, but this one is better since it is more like the stage show. The choreography was amateurish and none of the direction and cast especially blew me away. The orphans were good. Sandy will always steal the show. So cute. That was the best part in this show. They did not give the kids much to do in their numbers.

I loved it played great dont skip only thing it had a little crack on case which didnt really bother this cd has alot of memory value I use to have it when I was younger so to have this again is great

I loved this version of Annie from when I was younger. I couldn't help but want to the music after all this time. I have more appreciation of the music then when i was little. If you liked the TV film version then you will want the music. It is exactly as the movie and all of the cast is amazing! Strong and talented voices!

I only managed to watch the first half an hour of the television movie (and was disappointed with what I saw), but the CD was given to me as a gift and so I have had the chance to listen to the music. While I still prefer the 1982 version, I have to admit that this newer one is pretty good and has some shining moments. Alicia Morton's singing does not have as much personality or character as Aileen Quinn's (1982), but she does sing very well and with a certain childish sweetness that is nice to hear. The rest of the cast are generally good, too, although Kathy Bates' "Little Girls" can't hold a candle to Carol Burnett's. The arrangements of songs sound slightly more authentic--but less exciting--than the older version, which can be a good or bad thing depending upon what you like. The bottom line is: the 1982 version is altogether better, but this one is not bad.

Wonderful! One of my all-time favorite musicals! The little actress who plays Annie is first-rate! Actually, I love all the actors and actresses so much, that even though the first Annie was excellent, I'd have to say that I like this version better!!!

Banging soundtrack, took a while to get here, seller's name says UK but came from US, plays fine

アニーの大ファンで、独身の頃には青山劇場に何度も見に行きました。でも、最初にみたアニーが一番良かったです。その後は、ヒップホップのHARD-KNOCK LIFEになったり、タップが入ったり．．．となんだかアニーのイメージが崩れてきた感じがして．．．たまたま、WOWOWでやったこの１９９９年版がとてもよくて、気に入っていました。ちょっと話をはしょったりしているのが残念だったのですが．．．今では、３歳の娘がアニーに夢中！一日に何度も見ては歌って踊っているので、このCDを見つけて早速購入！３歳の娘と７歳の息子が踊って歌って（歌詞は聞こえた通りに歌っているので、変(^^ゞ）楽しそうですよ！おすすめです！

臨場感があり、画面が頭の中に鮮明よみがえります. 日本では、ミュージカルの方が有名だけど、このディズニーのアニーは お勧め！アニーのかわいい歌声が心に染みます. toworrowは最高です！！ただ、歌詞カードないのがちょっと残念かも.
