Why is girls version of toy 10% more expensive than all other boys versions?

I didn't notice this so I have no idea. It looks gender discrimination. You have to ask Amazon. That is hard to do but call this customer service number: 1-888-280-4331.

Can a 2 year old unbuckle these themselves after they're buckled?

I have a 1 year old and I constantly have to unbuckle the buckles. I haven’t been able to teach her to unbuckle them yet.

Would this toy be okay for a 7 month old who loves to play with buckles?

As long as your child is supervised I don't see why not. Our daughter started playing with hers when she was about 9 months. There are no small parts unless a buckle breaks or falls off, but that has yet to happen with ours.
