Q: Can you set a specific humidity on the unit?

Yes. You can have it run on it's own to your preferred setting of humidity, or set the level of desired room humidity. It will then shut off once it hits that level, and come back on again when the humidity level drops.

Q: Hi, has anyone else noticed that after several months your humidifier makes loud noises similar to a baby sound machine? We bought ours in January....

I've had mine for nearly 7 months and it's as quite as the first day I used it. Granted I don't use to many of the settings mostly the first setting is sufficient for me. The others get my bedding and bed damp.

Q: Does this humidifier shut off automatically when it reaches set humidity?

The humidifier shuts off automatically when it runs out of water. Since we use it in a rather large area the humidity never reaches to set level. We do really like the humidifier and it keeps the air at a comfortable humidity.

Q: Does the ceramic filter need to be changed?

I've never changed it. Just washed it out when I changed the water.
