Unimpressed
From the sample only, I am extremely suspicious of the description of this guy's break. Firstly, no one refers to it as a tibula. There is a tibia and a fibula. But this guy writes, "Just in case your knowledge of human anatomy is not as good as it should be, the Tibula is the big bone in the bottom part of your leg right by your calf." He means the Tibia. Right there is a sign that this doctor is no master of his field.Delving further into this book, I found that his break was sufficiently untraumatic that he was discharged with a brace and scheduled for surgery a week later! This guy has little insight to offer the person with the ordinary, but extremely traumatic, broken leg. He was not immobile with pain, waiting for an ambulance. He shattered the top of his tibia. (Not tibula).Based on this, I will not be bothering to read any more. But I will consider writing a book about recovering from a proper break and IM nail surgery as a mother with a young family, (into which he has thus far offered no insight).

Jim Anderson gets a leg-up in the health and lifestyle genre
"In my humble opinion, taking a shower when you have a broken leg is the single most dangerous thing that you'll do." This quote, to me, captures the tenor of his book; humble yet informative, succinct yet insightful. When I broke my leg my concerns were this: 1) How quickly will my leg heal? That's it. And quite frankly this text answered all my concerns. And then some. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because I actually broke a leg of my dinner table and this is about breaking your actual, human leg, and some of the advice didn't translate that well to my particular problem. Still, an excellent guide.
