A picture says a thousand words
Here is a collection of photographs of Pennsylvania's infamous Coal and Iron Police. A picture may say a thousand words, but you won't find the full details here. The reality is that this private army policed the working class in PA, breaking strikes and skulls along the way. Workers were kept in check by physical force so that their exploitation could continue while the bosses amassed immense riches. The Coal and Iron Police were finally abolished after a decades long reign of terror when they murdered a miner named John Barcoski in cold blood. Outcry followed and the state government shifted the work of the Coal and Iron Police over to the relatively new State Troopers.

Not what I expected
Didn’t go into great detail. Katherine Mayo’s book Justice For All explains it much better

Not bad, but not any history.
A very good picture book of the era, but holds none to little historical research of the Coal and Iron police. No reports of investigations, arrests, court cases and outcomes; thus showing only a gilded façade of a cruel and animalistic group of people who under the law was allowed to murder, falsify arrests, and rape with impunity.
