Extremely usefull
This one is one sturdy and big mortar and pestle. The quality is very good and you can not only grind your regular ginger garlic and spices but also tomato, onion etc in small quantity. Good use to make salsa sauces and the likes. Very very happy with this one

Great piece of equipment.
1. Heavy.2. Don't drop the pestle or it WILL break. It can also roll and fall of the edge.3. A little rounded bottom would have been better. Dry spices gather in the corners. Hard to grind after that.4. Overall 4 stars. Great for grinding small volumes of things.

It broke after a few uses
Used it a few times, but there would always be some stone particles in the final food. The pestle cracked eventually, and I decided to discard the entire unit. It just wasn't that good for grinding anyway. I had hoped the rough surface of this stone would help in nicer chutneys etc., but you'd always get stone bits in it. I now have a smooth granite mortar and pestle- very happy with it. Wouldn't buy these rough stone-type mortars that seem to be abundant on amazon.

Looks slightly different than expected
Cracked pestle. Came dusty. Shallower and narrower than expected and doesn’t do job as expected. Heavy
