Although there have been a few books written about Shorinji Kempo, this appears to be the only one which is currently in print and readily available. Supposedly published to mark 40 years since the BSKF was established, which is a little odd considering the political dispute a few years ago which led to a parting of the ways between organisations, it is a collection of articles written by the founder of the art, Doshin So, put together by his daughter, who is head of the Japanese Shorinji Kempo organisation. Everything in it is interesting, but it not a comprehensive guide to accompany the study of the art, which is a shame. A lot of techniques are illustrated, but equally well a number of things are missing (e.g. nothing at all on kata). Also, as the other review mentions, the quality of the paper and the printing is not as good as it could be. Would have liked a bit more for £40.

Bon point : Le livre illustre pas mal de techniques Goho et Juho ainsi que l'histoire sur les origines du Shorinji Kempo et de son fondateur So Doshin.Mauvais point : Toutes les technique ne sont pas reprises dans le livre, les illustrations des techniques juho ne sont pas toujours très claires, des gros plans sur les mains auraient été idéals (avis personnel), le grain des pages n'est pas top non plus. La page sont forts fines comme du papier d'imprimante bas de gamme ce qui est vraiment dommage car je doute que ça tienne avec le temps et se déchirerait assez facilement en cas de mauvaise manipulation.Mais je recommande tout de même ce volume à quiconque souhaite en connaître un peu plus sur le Shorinji Kempo et les débutants.
