I have used this iron one time so far and I definitely enjoyed using it on my hair. I have 4b-c naturally curly hair that is past my chin in the front, and past my bra in the back in length. This flat iron definitely managed my hair's mischief! Worked as well as my 10yr old Babyliss, with a wider temperature range as well. Light and cool to the touch, and didn't require a heavy hand or tight grip/clamp on the hair.Cons (?)1: The iron does Not stand upright, it just falls over to lay on its side. But, the plates don't touch the table so this is really no worry as long as you pick up the iron properly. It's actually more ergonomic that way, so maybe this "Con" is actually a "Pro"... 2: The iron has an auto shut off. Since I have so much hair, it did indeed shut off before I was finished. But, it truly takes about 45 seconds to heat back up to 440° so, it's not a big deal. I actually think this auto shut off is a nice safety feature, so I'm going to consider this"Con" to be a "Pro" as well!! You can definitely create curls/waves. Keep in mind that with a 1" surface area, the curls may be tight. I used a fine tooth comb (and Finisheen) as I ironed, and my frizzy ends came out with salon results.I am a first time customer and the seller emailed me twice asking for feedback and/or a review. They obviously care about their customer's experience and satisfaction. The prime shipping was on time and easy.Overall I am quite satisfied and would Definitely recommend this iron, especially to women of color with natural hair.I RECEIVED NO DISCOUNT FOR THIS REVIEW.

My HAI flat iron stopped working after 9 years. I probably should have gotten rid of the HAI one 2 years ago, as it pulled on my hair and towards the end of its life span, seemed to burn out my hair. I used this and it worked out great. It did not snag or pull on my hair and it heated up within 28 seconds. This made my hair look healthy and shiny, not fried out. I was able to use this to style and straighten my hair. For the price, it is a great deal. I am happy I found this. I feel foolish for having thought that I needed to spend over $79 for a decent flat iron.

This flat iron was awesome until it stopped working out of the blue. It heated up in seconds, easy to curl hair with, and was relatively inexpensive. My previous flat iron worked for 5 years before it was laid to rest, this one lasted 7 months and 7 days. It was good while it lasted but now I'm on the hunt for a new one.

I bought this for my wife and at first it was great -- she loved it. But in less than 6 months something went wrong with the thermostat. Periodically, the iron display would say it was at the set temperature, but the the iron itself did not actually achieve the proper temperature (it heated up, but not as hot as it should have). Disappointing.

I have had this flat iron for less than a month and it doesn't heat up enough to straighten my hair. It worked great for two weeks, then started losing heat. I had it on 390 degrees this morning and still couldn't straighten my hair. The company responded back to me and did refund my money.

Best straightener I have EVER owned. My daughter and I have extremely thick curly hair. We used this for the first time and our hair stayed straight for 3 days. Typically we straighten our hair and we wake up the next morning a tangled curly mess again. The only thing I recommend is getting a hair mit with it. It reaches 450degrees and burns your hands very easily.

pros..... Heats up very quickly! Does a nice job . Very light to hold.Cons... Does not stay sitting up. Falls sideways when placed on surface. Cord is short...
