Salomon Women's X Ultra 4 Gore tex Hiking Shoes

For three years I tried to make my Keen terradoras work. Every hike my feet would hurt, my toes pinched, and by mile 10 I'm almost in tears. Downhill was a disaster of toe, knee, and hip pain. I thought I was just bad at hiking...Then through a recommendation I got these Salomons, and my life changed.I received them on a friday, was up on a volcano on Monday.I proceeded to do 10 miles a day at the minimum for a week, climbing up and down about 3k feet a day, with ZERO foot pain. Downhill used to be a big problem for me, but I flew down the mountain.These have plenty of toe space and a very solid cushioning so you don't feel any of the uneven ground.As other people mention, they do come a bit narrow in the middle of the foot - I did two 3 mile walks before my big hikes to break them in, and I found that they loosened up a bit. They weren't uncomfortable for me in the first place, but after that they were well fitting. I actually found the middle support comforting and a way to prevent my foot from hitting the toe box.I always wear a normal width shoe, so if you ever tend towards wider shoes, then these could be a problem for you.The goretex - great for stepping into puddles. Not great for a rain downpour, as the tongue of the shoe is not waterproof. I didn't mind the quicklaces - I would have preferred normal laces, but given that the rest of the shoe is so comfortable for me, it's not a hill I'm gonna die on. The quicklaces don't allow you to really tighten the shoe, but I prefer my shoes a bit loose so the fit was fine for me.Overall, so happy I splurged on these and I'm kicking myself for not getting them sooner.

I’ve really enjoyed these so far. They fit well and were comfortable from the very first time I wore them. These have a great tread and feel secure, especially downhill. I love how light they feel on my feet.I haven’t had them for very long, but have worn them in mixed terrain and wet/dry weather and my feet have been happy in them. I hope they hold up for awhile!

Incredible footbed that comfortable and I love the tie closure is easy to use! I love tread on them. Great for hiking and comfortable for all day wear!

The media could not be loaded. At this price point these shoes really should be constructed better. The tongues are clearly sewed to different lengths. I needed them, so I have lived with it. The waterproofing has worked well so far. I like that they are lightweight. I had to buy insoles because they were hard on my high arches.

I love the support of this shoe, the design, and the quick tie. The reviews I read were pretty negative really, but as soon as I slipped them on, I was so happy I purchased them.

Ultra light and fits like a glove with the new structure. Oddly, the size 9 that I usually wear seems loose in the toe box, unlike other size nines from Salomon. The lace lip on the left seems shorter than the one on the right and the overall height of the shoe is lower than prior versions. The stability is good and it has a slightly stiffer feel than prior versions. Will have to see how it does on the trail this weekend and will update more then.

UPDATE - After 3 days the shoes started ripping. The left one on day 3 & the right one on day 4... As a result, even though I love these shoes, they aren't worth the investment given how long it took before they ripped. Note that I was traveling with my 82 year old mom - so we weren't doing anything extreme!----------------------------I really like these - so much so that I also bought my mom a pair for our trip to Iceland. I tried about 7 other brands/styles but they were all too narrow or the sole was too hard. These were almost perfect - good width for feet on the wide side (both me & my mom), and good cushion in the sole. I prefer the way these tighten - love not having to tie my shoes! Why they are "almost" perfect... I do wish there was a bit more cushion on the bottom and more of an arch (but they are still better than every other one). Also, my mom's 9.5 was on the small size (she wears a 9 - 9.5) and mine was perfect at 6 (I wear a 6 - 6.5). So sizing may not be consistent. However, these blew every other one away!

I love Salomon hiking boots so I was excited to find they also make these hiking shoes that look more like a regular sneaker. I wear them for support out to museums, on walks, or running errands and they look great with regular clothes. I have multiple foot problems and these shoes are a lifesaver. I also love that they don’t have laces - so easy to slip them on and off. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone who wants more support than you can get from an athletic sneaker.

Le sto usando tantissimo, molto comode. Porto normalmente un 39 e ho acquistato un 41, perché bisogna considerare 2 misure in più per stare comodi. Consiglio sicuramente il modello.

I had checked the sizing and ordered half size down and still felt large. I didn't find the tongue came up far enough and the back of the heel seemed too low to hold the foot from slipping during a hike. For me they were my first choice pick but returned due to not the right fit for me. I will continue to search for a waterproof hiker and hopefully others have better luck with this fine quality Salomon shoe.

Toller leichter Schuh - sehr bequem.

Todo perfecto en comodidad y confort pero el tallaje de Salomón regular porque la opción de 2/3 si y 1/3 no, ¿eso por qué? Ya que 1/3 me viene mejor pero bueno en general bien

Zu einem Top Preis gekauft...Nur 4 Sterne weil ,an manchen Stellen der Kleber zu sehen ist!! Mal sehen wie lange er hält, das paar davor hat zwei Jahre gehalten ist jetzt total abgelaufen vom Profile her!!
