Diesel Injector Nozzle Pop Pressure Tester Dual Read Bar/PSI Gauge S60H W/Filter

I bought two of these, both failed on the first pump. Unfortunately for me I was unable to return the second one as it was past the 30 days when I got to try the second one. Going to try and salvage some parts and build my own with a bottle jack. Once again these are total garbage! Would have given it zero stars if I could.

The device works well, with a few comments. First, when I set it up and started pumping the lever to prime it, it simply did not prime. Others reported over a hundred pumps to prime.The solution is to tilt the device so that the diesel fuel can flow toward the pump. When I did that, it primed within two pumps. And yes, I did have the reservoir filled to over 1/2 full as in the instructions, as you should.Others have commented that it leaks. I did not have issues with leaks, but when you put the reservoir on, be sure to smear a bit of diesel fuel on the o-ring as you would on an oil filter seal, so that it slides and seats properly. The seat is rough, but with a bit of diesel fuel to lubricate the seal mine worked fine.I was testing Yanmar injectors for a 3GM30 boat engine, and needed to get an adapter. This adapted the 12 mm fitting that came with the device to the injector. I got this adapter from a local diesel injector shop. As shown in the picture attached.For the DIY folks, this is a great device. I had the injectors tested by a local dealer, and the readings just didn't make sense - the pop pressures were way too high. They suggested replacing all three injectors at $240 each. With this device, I got consistent readings near the range I was expecting (lower due to the age of the engine). I adjusted the shims, and brought the pop pressures to within specs. Carefully clean clean clean... And check your spring dimensions, BTW, and also plan to change whatever gaskets or insulators are required when you re-install.Others have mentioned that the frame is plastic. No problem at all. Lots of parts on your cars are plastic. It is plenty strong for the job. Very happy with the device and what I learned in the process.Doing it yourself really gives you a better understanding of how it works. That is a big plus. For the DIY folks I highly recommend the device.

My unit was clean, however, after 1 pump the unit was jammed solid. The root cause is the large spring seat did not have the correct diameter to fit the spring and jammed the unit. I am returning the unit. Please be aware the current photos of the cast iron body does not match the plastic one I received.

Found a leaking injector that could have destroyed my engine! I did not know this was happening and would not have serviced this due to cost until likely damage would have occurred! This is a quality device for the private user, probably not robust enough for everyday use. I would recommend this to others.

Worked well enough. Pressure gauge required a little bit of tweaking with the pressure knob in order to show any kind of pressure. Getting that down, it worked well. It does leak at the base of the fuel bowl, like others have mentioned. Teflon tape on the bowl threads reduced leakage a fair amount but not completely. Plan on using this where making a mess with fuel is ok. Still, buying this unit is MUCH less expensive and so convenient than sending out your injectors. Recommended buy!
