Not well. It is great on hard to medium-hard cheese. Soft cheese like Mozzarella kind of mushes up. We love our shredder though

I also bought a cheese slicer not the grater. You can pick either one to buy,thats why reviews are for both products. You can also pick the option from the reviews to read only about the grater or slicer separately.

I have found it almost impossible to use with hard cheese. Blade is to thick and handle to narrow. Would not buy again.
