Excellent upgrade
I owned the old version of this Wellmaking snoot which was always very finicky to use, and is now missing a screw from the wear and tear of constant use. This S-200 version out of the box feels much better in build quality. The ability to use a standard EF lens makes focusing and aperture control much easier and more accurate than the sliders of the previous version. The magnetic gobo holder also makes adjusting the angle of the gobo easy. I do wish that it had room to add an iris adjustment blade, but that's just a wish.Pro-tip: Since this snoot uses an EF lens mount, you can use any old manual focus FD lens with EF adapter and have zoom and or aperture control of the light output, giving you endless options.

Great product
Thisnisna nice upgrade from the previous version. The gonbonis easier to manage. There were situations where the light spilled on the older model but this one doesn't spill, it also doesn't get hot.

This device is quite good for a Chinese designed and made photo lighting product.
I think the included gels could consist of a greater range of colors. The gobos are small but quite well made. Not Rosco size. I had a second steel gobo holder CNC machined at a machine shop. The outside diameter of the original gobo holder of 82mm is nearly the same diameter of a Rosco gobo. So any Rosco gobo, including glass gobos can be used by attaching them with a bit of gaffer tape. The original gobo holder has spring clips attached on one side which do not allow for fitment of a Rosco gobo. Having a 2nd steel gobo holder made is a major advantage in use of this spotlight attachment. The unit itself is very good quality and well built. I had adapter rings made that go in place of the Bowens mount which is easily removed. I had two flat aluminum adapter rings made with a CNC machine. Same thinkness as the original Bowens mount flange. I attached an Elinchrom 152mm speed ring insert to one of the machined 152mm rings which were made at 152mm on purpose but retained the Bowens mount inside diameter. I did the same with a 152mm Speedotron speed ring insert with another 152mm adapter ring. The Elinchrom and Speedotron rings were simply JB Welded to the CNC machined 152mm flat adapter rings. Those rings were drilled in three places to match the original Bowens insert screw holes. Three cap screws are used to attach the rings in the same holes that the Bowens mount uses. I use the spotlight with a Photodiox Canon EF to Nikon AI adapter. It works perfectly as does the entire spotlight. With the CNC machined flat adapter rings you can mount just about any strobe to this spotlight. Nice portable light modifier with great versatility. It's a really good value.

Great manufacturer support
Item arrived quickly but was missing the gobo clip. I didn't want to hassle with returning the entire thing so I reached out directly to Wellmaking. They responded immediately and shipped the missing part with to hassle.

Good quality but missing parts
The build quality is good but my order was missing the gobos, color filters and gobo holder.

Output is great for a 'budget' optical snoot
This version seems to solve my 2 main concerns with the budget optical snoots. It's long enough for strobes with long modeling bulbs, and you can use your own lenses, in my case, I have to use a Nikon F to Canon EF adapter. This gives new life to my old MF Nikon primes. My 50mm 1.4 gives a flat, bright output with only a trace of chromatic aberration in the patterns using a Neewer 150w LED light. DX lenses can be used, but their edges will vignette to black. The gobo holder and magnetic mount work well so far. I have some Godox gels designed for their optical snoot, and even though they are slightly larger (and thinner) than the included gels, they will fit on the gobo holder. Haven't tried them with strobes yet: if any issues come up, I'll add them here. The gobos they included offer a nice selection to experiment with, but some of them have machining barbs that are visible in the projected image, and the slit gobo is much wider than I want for creating a shaft of light. The small circles are cooler looking than I expected. Godox offers cheaper selections, so I'll see if they fit in this holder.

Product was exactly what I was looking for
Great value, purchased without the lens, used my own 24-105mm EF Canon lens. Stock gobos are ok, found same seller on “other” auction platform and ordered custom slides. This totally makes the product worth it. Use with a Godox 600 pro strobe. I only use modeling light to focus and align for the picture. So I feel comfortable using the gels provided- I have found you will need to increase the power a stop or so to get results.

Well Made, nice selection of gobos
I rarely take the time to write product reviews, but I love this device. I'm using it with a Godox AD300 and a S2 bracket. For the lens I'm using an old Canon 70-200mm zoom lens that I had laying around. The zoom lens gives me lots of control over the size of the projection.
