Great tasting coffee, strongish flavour that is not at all bitter
Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Select Roast & Ground Rwandan CoffeeI must admit that I've never tried coffee from Rwanda, in fact I wasn't even aware that they produced coffee. There are 6 bags of ground coffee supplied, each individually packaged in good quality foil lined bags. Each bag has contents that weigh just 227 grams which is enough for a few weeks supply. In my opinion it's much better buying ground coffee this way as you can be sure it will remain fresh for longer. Once a bag is opened it's recommended that it be transferred to a sealed container and placed inside a fridge to help keep it fresh for longer. The brand name 'Happy Belly' is an Amazon own brand, I have sampled several products that bear the 'Happy Belly' name and I've never been disappointed so far. These coffee beans are grown in Rwanda, the Land of a Thousand Hills. This is also Rainforest Alliance Certified which is good for the farmers, their workers and the environment. The beans are roasted, ground and packed in Belgium.Although this coffee is described as strength 3 out of 5, it tastes stronger than that to me. I normally prefer a stronger coffee, this one certainly hits the spot. This gives off a lovely aroma, my wife also commented on the aroma today as I sat drinking this. I find the flavour quite strong but not overwhelming, it's described as having a slight acidic aftertaste which is something I don't usually like in some coffees, but with this I could not detect it.I would describe this as fairly strong, smooth tasting coffee which is neither bitter nor acidic. In a nutshell!... a lovely cup of coffee - Recommended!CONTENTS:6 x 227grThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

Authentic high-altitude Brazilian Arabica flavour with an interesting biography.
Who doesn't love a good cup of coffee and a decent read? Fortunately, this bag of coffee beans provided me with both! There's a QR code on the bag that will ultimately lead you to the website of the farmer's Co-op where you can read all about the collective efforts of their 100 members, all located within the Santana Da Vargem municipality, north-east of Sao Paulo. It's a region well know for its coffee production and this single-source Arabica coffee is a classic example of a high-altitude bean, grown between 2,900-3,300 ft above sea level. This is a coffee for those of us who love coffee but tend to keep one, maybe two types around the house for different occasions; in my case, daytime and after-dinner. This is definitely a coffee for daytime and in the bag, it's slightly smokey on the nose but soon mellows once ground, settling to a smooth nutty bouquet when brewed. On the palate, it has distinctive notes of hazelnut, almond and milk chocolate. In fact, the aftertaste is distinctively chocolatey and who doesn't love that! It's also quite low in acid, meaning that (for this reviewer at least!) the heartburn probability is remote. It's a versatile coffee too and although I enjoy mine from a cafetiere, it's ideal for use in filter machines, stove-top pots etc.Whilst enjoying my morning cuppa, I had a good read of the information the grower's Co-op provides and enjoyed reading about their 'De todas as Marias' project, which promotes and provides recognition for women coffee producers within an industry where they remain greatly excluded. So, an interesting start to the day with a product I'd heartily recommend.

Tastes amazing and fits perfectly in our Nespresso machine.
I’ve had a few Happy Belly coffee’s now and am always really impressed by the quality and taste of them, and these are no different. The pods come in small compact boxes making them easy to store which is great. These pods are also aluminium which means once cleaned out they’re fully recyclable or can be added to your Nespresso pod bags for them to recycle. The pods fit perfectly and well with my Nespresso machine. I drink large mugs of coffee and used two pods to make a large cappuccino, but one pod would be perfect for an espresso or smaller cup.On opening the box the first thing I noticed was the smell, even before making the coffee you can smell it in the capsule and it becomes even stronger once brewed. And most importantly it tastes amazing! Very smooth and bold in flavour without any hint of bitterness. It starts with a caramel and almond note before finishing with a cocoa punch.Overall I’m extremely happy with these pods and would definitely recommend them as an alternative to the official Nespresso pods.

Tasty coffee
These pods are perfectly compatible with my nespresso pixie machine. The coffee itself is nice tasting, about medium-strong and is 100% arabica which is my favourite. I run a lungo and then a little extra shot of water making it slightly weaker, the coffee was stronger than expected but still tasted good. The pods are aluminium and good quality, until recently only Nespresso were offering aluminium pods. These can be recycled by a nespresso programme which is better than other compatible pods made from single use plastic but over all i prefer the compostable type purely for convenience. This pack bulk pack of 80 (4x20) is currently £11.54 and works out to less than 15 pence per serving which is less than half the price of orignal pods, so is very good value. This Rwanda blend is not my favourite though so not sure I would buy this type again but i would definitely buy happy belly brand again and recommend. I was not disappointed with this coffee.
