Ivation Ozone Generator Air Purifier, Ionizer & Deodorizer -Purifies Up to 3,500 Sq/Ft -Great for Dust, Pollen, Pets, Smoke & More Cherry

I purchased this to replace a low-energy, non-intrusive Shaper Image Ionic Breeze that had finally failed. Although there is an easy argument to be made that ionization of oxygen (O3 - Ozone) is a pollutant, for indoor smokers it is often the lesser of two evils. Ozone is tremendously effective at attaching to smoke particles and neutralizing. It is not a scented cover-up, but an actual neutralization, and it works great. As you may know, lawsuits against The Shaper Image's claims that the Ionic Breeze was an "air purifier" drove The Sharper Image to insolvency. So I needed a new solution, and I am fully aware of the harmful effects of ozone, and I, as a consenting and informed adult, accept the risk.The Ivation is indeed a hardcore ozone generator. It is FAR more serious than even the largest of the Ionic Breeze-style machines. There are two controls on it. The first is the ionization level, and the second is the fan speed. As an example, if I cordon off several rooms in my house and run this little box on high-ozone and high-fan, it will effectively load those three rooms, about 500 square feet, full of a high concentration of ozone in about 8 hours or less. How high? High enough that you will need to move rapidly through the rooms to open windows and extricate yourself from that environment. If you take too long, and need to take a gulp of air, beware. You'll be sucking down what smells and tastes like chlorine bleach. That is ozone. Depending on your tolerance, you may be able to take it, or you may feel nauseous. It is that strong.That strength is a good thing. Remember, you have the capability to dial-down the ozone generation. So if it is too strong, dial it down to a lower level.If you are an indoor smoker, this will definitely go a long way towards removing that stale, cigarette smell. Almost no one can tell that I smoked indoors throughout the winter, with closed windows.This is NOT the type of air purifier I would use if there are people in the room. It is an after-action clean-up type of purifier. Use a HEPA air filter when you are in the room. It's loud, but there are no noxious, ozone gas to deal with.Be aware that ozone can damage all sorts of things. That free oxygen atom wants to bind; it is a chemistry fact. It will not only bind with other pollutants, but also your books, artwork, silverware, et al. For this same reason, never run this the same time you are running a charcoal prefilter on another air filter. You'll waste that charcoal filter in no time. Charcoal loves to bind - ozone loves to bind - the ozone will quickly render your charcoal prefilter entirely used. Know your risks. Be aware.All that said, I am highly satisfied with my purchase. That I can smoke inside, and the place has a sterile, clean smell, is rather incredible. I would recommend you understand exactly what this machine is good for, and make sure it meets your needs. For most people, this may not be the right match. But for those that it is, you're probably going to love it.

This is a month's use review. In that time this device has been outstanding. I mostly use the ionizer and it is outstanding. It will take a musky, off-odor room and make it smell super fresh. It is easy to use. The fan is strong. It just makes the air smell so fresh. Great Value. I have used the Ozone part of it yet since I have to leave the premises when I do. I'll post an update once I do, but the Ionizer alone has make it worth my purchase.

This air purifier does work well. It does have noticeable affect on the air in our home. This is the 2nd one that we have purchased. The problem we have is that it stopped working a couple months in. I contacted ivation and they replaced the unit, no charge. I'm not sure what i was expecting, maybe just to vent. Anyway, Iam so glad that we have one working again! Praise The LORD for great customer service!!

"Should be operated in UNOCCUPIED spaces ONLY." "Inhalation of ozone can cause lung damage." What the.....?!?! What's the point? I can smell the ozone and it smells like fresh air. It works. I think they are trying to cover their rear ends, to a point. However, Mayo Clinic says the following: "They remove particles from the air by causing the particles to attach to nearby surfaces or to each other and settle out of the air — but they may generate unwanted ozone. Inhaling ozone, even in small amounts, can irritate the lungs. Specific effects may include throat irritation, coughing, chest pain and shortness of breath, as well as an increased risk of respiratory infections." No thank you. Time to return!

Years ago - I used a similar device ( Don’t recall brand name) and it lasted10 years & worked well in a musty basement rec room.Although this new unit worked well - while at a different house & cleaner environment - it only lasted about 3 years. I replaced the plate and it still failed. Lights on front panel flashing and fan fails to fully spin. I contacted their customer service and emailed them a brief video and all they said was if new plate does not correct it - it’s defective. DUH?? I was hoping for some troubleshooting assistance - maybe identify a replacement part or new circuit board. NOTHING….Want to get another machine - but prob need to look at a different brand instead.

Outstanding Product! I can not say that enough.I have a 2000 ft² ranch, with a little better than half the living space being in one half the house for the living room, kitchen, dining and family room. This was an ideal location to place this device on a butcher block island tucked off to the side of the kitchen in the dining area. It has direct access to all primary areas of the house other than the bedrooms which are down the hallway.I opened the product and followed the instructions to set it up, turned it on low for ozone and then one step underneath the halfway for the fan. The first 24 hours you could every now and again catch that hint of fresh clean air that comes after a thunderstorm that people associate with these types of devices. 48 hours later you barely even notice the sent unless you're walking directly by the device. However the improvements to the air quality in the house have been dramatic. Everyone is feeling much better, a lot less sneezing including from our dog. We have a high-end HVAC unit that has the medical grade filtration system and UVC light system that runs 24/7 365; yet we didn't see the same level of improvement after that system was installed as we did with this little tabletop device. I am exceptionally pleased with the results of the product.My only note of caution is that like most other things in life too much is not good for you, so do not try to turn it on high and then turn it down to get results. Start low, and then if you need to increase it only do so one step at a time with the ozone and wait 48 hours before making the next change if needed.*Never sit or stand directly in front of the device for any length of time*
