Riot Rules: Crooked Sinners, Book 2

Wow! Just wow!
Dash and Carrie - wow! Just wow! Callie has gone and done it again! I'm normally not as clueless as I am atm. I can usually tell you the plot and everything connecting it by the end of the first chapter. The twist at the end blew me away, because I didn't connect any of it. Typical Callie Hart. She likes keeping us in suspense right to the very last word.Riot rules is a fantastic piece of writing. You're captivated from the first word. You feel all the emotions and pain, and happiness, along with the lead characters. It fills in the blanks from riot house. You can't help but fall in love with Dash. Or Wren and Pax. I can't wait for his book.If you have never read any of Callies' books before, I guarantee that you'll be hook after reading this book.Seriously, you need to read this book!

Hot!
I love the style of writing and the characterisation. Callie Hart is an intuitive author, who creates great characters and strong, formidable females within her imaginary world. This is a great story to lose yourself in and is enjoyable throughout. My only critique would be that having read the first book, there were a lot of repetition/crossovers, albeit from a different point of view and I felt myself rushing a bit to get to the parts that were independent of the first book. But Carina is a sweetheart and Dash twirls his metaphorical moustache before turning into a dreamboat.Looking forward to Pax's story. Just hope it won't take too long?

Wow wee 😍
Riot rules takes us back to wolf hall to tell Dash and Carina’s story. He is the perfect British bad boy hiding behind his posh clothes and even posher accent. She’s the girl with a traumatic past and enough spunk to know exactly what she deserves. Both their pasts have left them guarded but my god when they let down those walls the chemistry between these two is explosive. I love how it went back in the timeframe to fill in gaps I didn’t even know were there and the few little surprises from characters from other series just blew my mind and left me wanting more and more. I cannot wait for the next instalment of crooked sinners and pax’s story.

Oh wow Lord Lovett
I devoured this book and think I fell in love with Dash more than Wren. The second book in the series and it did not disappoint. Carina isn’t a military or privileged kid, she’s had the most heinous upbringing until her guardian saved her. Despite this background she seems grounded and strong but a certain Lord sends her off kilter.Dash hates dislikes most people and definitely couldn’t lose his heart to anyone until he discovers a wild haired girl that’s been under his nose all this time.

As expected...
Wow I devoured this book. I was so excited to read it and I was not disappointed. Dash met his match in Carina. The attraction, the chemistry and the storyline was amazing. I was screaming when I realized who Alderman is, as an avid reader of Callie Hart’s books it was thrilling to read a feature of one of my favorite characters in her many series.Patiently waiting for Pax’s book. I love all the Riot house boys so I cannot pick a favorite but I am guessing Pax’s book is going to be more thrilling. Bring on book 3........

Unexpected hidden depths ....
“when I like something, I want to make it mine. I want all of it. I need to know that I hold it in the palm of my hand, and it will never try to escape.”Gotta say Lord Dashiel had some hidden depths that was totally unexpected, and which I totally loved.Carina you really thought you knew who she was but Riot Rules proves you WRONG!Riot Rules takes place about a year before the events of Riot House and explains a lot of what occurred here.Callie wrote this beautifully, yes it can be read as a stand-alone but for those who have read RH, would appreciate the flow of RR.It’s also pretty cool seeing Wren and Pax from another POV.I cannot wait for Pax’s book, cause I’m Camp Pax all the way!!

Loved it
This was not what i expected from a “teen “ high school romance and it definitely is worth reading the other book although not necessary does make it more easier to understand even if the timeline is a bit warped.I love dashiel and carrie as with each riot boy they are in a world of their own and the definitely are the kings. I like that the female leads are not all simpering easy going but have grit and drama and a story (love how it links to other series ) and can see how it unfolds. Cant wait to read about pax

Not All Stars Align
My heart was in my throat as the story unfolded. I cried, laughed and smiled & may have chucked my kindle away from me once or twice. Callie kept us on edge as The Crooked Saints reeked havoc on these pages. Dashiell you misguided a*s.I so wanted to give it 5 stars, I loved Wren's story so much. I couldn't wait to see how my British boy would ruin me.But I spent half the book working out the timeline, I knew it took place before our first introduction to the lovable ar*eholes we know as Wren, Pax & Dash and yet I had to make multiple references to Riot House to get an understanding of the times in between. In spite of that, I fell in love with Carrie harder & had spilt emotions of wanting to kiss and murder Dash more than I care to admit. I have gain a completely different perspective of teachers. I'm now positive my science teacher is a sociopath.Honestly Riot Rules will leave you aching for more. Give me Pax and “PRESLEY MARIA WITTON CHASE..."

Callie Hart holds nothing back and delivers an angsty dual POV coming of age, dark bully YA romance that will literally hold you captive. I fought myself tooth and nail to put it down to sleep and that wasn’t easy, but this book is a beast!EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK IS FIVE STAR WORTHY!✔ The Cover? Absolutely delicious and a better representation of Dash doesn’t exist!✔ The Characters? Dash and Carrie will own you! From the first line until the inevitable end, I fell helplessly under their spells. The Crooked Sinners are back! Prepare your hearts and your panties—THE DARK LORD, THE SUN GOD, THE ANARCHIST—are in the house!✔ The Storyline? Unequivocally superb!About the Book:Riot Rules is the second book in the Crooked Sinner’s series. Although written as a standalone, I highly recommend reading it after you’ve read Riot House. The storyline enhances and expands so many key moments from Riot House and reading them in order will only pull you deeper under the spell of the Riot House boys—Wren, Pax and Dashiell. This is not simply a retelling of previous Riot House, the story is deeper, and offers so much context and heart that I felt like I was reading it as a standalone from the start. (Not sure that makes sense to you, but it does if you’ve read both books! 😉)Q: "𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜’𝙨 𝙖 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝘼𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. 𝘼 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚. 𝘼 𝙡𝙞𝙚. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙨𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩. 𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝. 𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩… 𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪.”The story is dark, as is befitting of the setting and the characters. Callie Hart crafted a boarding school that’s imposing, stately and cryptic much like Hogwarts was initially for readers of the HP series. The academy, Wolf Hall, is attended by Military brats and disregarded teens alike and offers more secrets than answers. Yet, where Hogwarts offered magic and youth, Wolf Hall dispatched cruelty, treachery and untold horrors for its residents. This school was for the elite, the youth belonging to societies crème de la crème, who were placed among the hallowed halls of an academy to be forgotten they too would join into the elite ranks of society. And to survive their tenor at Wolf Hall, they also had to carve out a space within its hierarchy or remain a bottom feeder. Enter the three kings of Wolf Hall, the dark lord, the sun God, and the Anarchrist. If you’ve not read Riot House, the mystery will keep you going until the very last pages of the book. On the other hand, if you’ve read Riot House, the new perception of events truly drew me in, and I appreciated anew the skill and mastery that Callie uses when she crafts a story.Q: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿.The Characters:Riot Rules is Dashiell’s—the aforementioned Sun God—story and prepare to acquiesce all before Lord Dashiell Lovett the Fourth because Dash… sweet Jesus, he’s nothing like I was expecting and everything I didn’t know I wanted in a book boyfriend. He’s titled nobility. His airs and grace as ingrained as his genetic code. He’s cold, heartless, competitive, and used to being the best. I can promise your hearts will beat for him long before you reach the conclusion of the story and much like Wren Jacobi—the epic alphahole himself—you’ll be helpless but to surrender to the inevitable.Q: 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲. She’s unapologetically herself and has had a life of trauma that would destroy many. Only she uses her past to build herself in the fierce heroine who shatters Dash’s glass house. That gives him a taste of everything he’s never had or knew he would ever want. She gains new scars under Dash’s tutelage though and her fight really begins anew in Riot Rules when it’s presented with new context and insights. I was rooting for this girl. Her heartbreak speaks to me and her happiness was prominent in my mind throughout the story.Q: “𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙪𝙥𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙤 .... 𝙗𝙖𝙙, 𝙞𝙩 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙨. The sparks that ignite between this pair will surely set fire to your kindle and panties! Much like Riot House, Riot Rules is not a story that you walk away from without feeling the burn of the seriously depraved kind of sexy that Callie Hart is well known for. 😉Q: 𝗞𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻. She crafts a story that you’ll sit down and devour long into the night, if not in one setting. Her prose is beautiful and while so many elements of Riot Rules is addressed in Riot House, she still manages to write them with new perspective and a keen insight into how to best craft a scene that perfectly fits more than just the characters of one particular book. The story is phenomenal. I feel like I waited absolutely forever to get my hands on this book. I knew it was coming and the muses took her longer to weave together then the original dates allowed for. Yet, Callie pushed back her release and truly delivered perfection. I literally spent an entire night and then, because the book is so large, had to wrap it up the second night… And thankfully I was able to basically mainline copious amounts of coffee the next day! 😉Q: “𝙄𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙣 𝙂𝙤𝙙, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙙𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙣. 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙖. 𝙎𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙚. 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨. 𝙇𝙪𝙣𝙖. 𝙈𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣.”Despite the size of the book, a massive 475+ pages, the story pace is fast and well planned out to keep you glued to the pages. The characters are expertly crafted and since the storyline is so deeply woven into the events of Riot House, Callie took the time to line up events splendidly. It would seem to me that writing a story with parallel timelines a challenge, but Callie’s mastery is apparent as is her commitment to maintaining the dark and menacing vibe of the story all well delighting readers with unpredictable characters! Riot Rules is a very sinister and utterly compelling story that will grab your attention and hold you captive. I read a ton of bully and dark romance, and this story stuck with me for weeks after I read it. I can’t continue to paint the picture for why this story was absolutely phenomenal without offering spoilers which I won’t do, so just buy the book and read it. If you’ve never read a book by Callie Hart, you’ll be a diehard fan much like myself after reading it. And if you’re a fan of bully and dark romance, this one is sure to hold you as captivated as I was and will be a much-read addition to your kindle or paperback collection!

Whiplash.
Where Wren sets a fire to your soul only to watch it burn, Dashiell grabs your heart in his fist and squeezes as tight as he can.Whiplash – It’s the only way to describe it. I went back and forth from hating him to loving him in matters of chapters – sometimes only one. I repeatedly said aloud “ughhh, I hate Dash!” And every time it happened, the quote from the Sun God’s mouth rang loud.“Keep the lie if it makes you feel better.”Because, that’s what it always turned out to be. A lie.Chapter 33 hit, and suddenly, I'm Carrie - CRUSHED in half. I felt her heart break, as mine broke in two."The blade cuts deep, and the misery hurts more than any other pain I've ever experienced."“I'm cracked open.I'm hollowed out.I'm shattered into pieces.I'm done.”Carina had fallen so deeply in love with Dashiell even before he knew she existed. From the sneaking off every Saturday to watch him play the piano privately, to the moment when their souls connected on another level.“The pieces he chose were so somber and sad that they made my heart ache. At some point, that changed; I realized I was sneaking down there because watching him made my soul ache, too.”“He's extraordinary. He's an exploding sun. He's a live wire, humming with electricity.A shot of epinephrine straight to the heart.”The way these two burn for each other is like nothing else.I went in this 100000% Team Wren, and I THINK that still rings true..But OH MY GOD, I am so in love with you, Lord Dashiell Lovett the fourth. I feel like I might die. (if you know, you know.)“It is the honor of my life to finally meet you.”

Dash and Carrie are everything
Riot Rules completely exceeded my expectations, it answered all the questions that Riot House left, I fell in love with the story from the beginning and Dash & Carrie are incredible protagonists.First of all, I loved going back to Wolf Hall, I think that the world Callie Hart has built for these books is wonderful, I love the detailed descriptions of the school and its surroundings as well as those of Riot House, plus it makes me very happy that this book show new places and things about the school, that shows that there is still much more to discover about the gloomy building. As I expected, I loved Dashiell, from the first book he was the one who made me fall in love the most, even so, I did not expect the type of character he is: he is obviously very handsome,is English and that drives the female population of Wolf Hall crazy, but deep down Dash is a lost boy, who has never experienced what it feels like to be loved, constantly lives under pressure from his father, and is not allowed fulfill his true dreams, he is also a little rude, funny, adorable and very hot.Carina, on her part, has a tragic past that has led her to hide many secrets about her personal life, she is a pretty and good girl, she has definite tastes and cares about the rest. Honestly, I found her personal story surprising and very intriguing, and I was also delighted to finally understand the attitude that she has in Riot House.Undoubtedly what I like the most about Riot Rules is the relationship between Dash & Carrie, I love the way things happen between them, I think it's very interesting how mysterious they are for each other and the way they start to trust each other. I think I liked it much more to delve into Dash’s thoughts about the relationship, since I was expecting something completely different from him, I also think that they are a couple that function very well and enjoy all their moments together . And although there are some bad decisions on Dash's part I am very satisfied with the way it ends for them.Another of my favorite things is having the perspective of other characters regarding the final events of Riot House, I think that complements the information from the first book very well and it definitely helped me to fill in some information gaps. It is also very interesting to read Mara as a secondary character and not only as a memory of the other students, I also loved to learn more about the rules that the Riot House boys have, their friendship and see Wren & Elodie from Dash and Carrie's point of view.Without a doubt, other characters that surprised me were Pax and Pres, in the first book he is not my favorite, but in this second I could see much more of him: his moments with Dash are hilarious and I had a lot of fun , Pres is a beautiful person, her reactions when Pax is around her are as tender as they are embarrassing and I am looking forward to reading them as protagonists.Riot Rules was an incredible book, with many details, answers, tender, funny and hot moments. With a very interesting plot, main and secondary characters that I already love, but that still have a lot to tell, definitely a highly recommended reading if you love Riot House.
