Great science experiment
I am helping my granddaughter with her 5th grade science experiment and am amazed at how well this works. It has operated the LED clock for 6 days now.My voltometer registers 1.56 volts!I tried hooking up LED bulbs that I also purchased on Amazon and they didn't work. Not sure if they are bad LED bulbs or what. I am glad I got this kit that includes everything that does work!

Needs adult supervision
This kit works, but requires you to have extra supplies and tools not included. We did not have a 2L bottle, so this still has no stand. The screws are very tiny and hard to screw in, so I had to put them all in as my 10 yo did not have enough strength to get them all the way screwed in. A screwdriver is not included and requires a tiny screwdriver like an eyeglass screwdriver or one that will open tiny battery areas. Also, the instructions could be easier to read and use if they would label the parts with a number and a name the instructions would be easier overall. It would also help kids learn what these parts are. The wind turbine does turn on a light, we tested it with a fan and will test it outside once we get a stand, aka a 2L bottle filled with sand as we live in a pretty breezy to downright windy area. Thanks for reading this review and I do hope it was helpful!

Awesome science kit..Great for an afternoon experiment...Even better as a gift!..
I got this for my son who is in the 2nd grade for Christmas. He loves science experiments! It was a BIG hit! He was super excited about it upon unwrapping it. So the surprise/excitement factor was there. When it came down to doing the actual experiment, the instructions were simple and easy to follow. Most everything you need is included & items that are not included are items that most people have on hand at home or in their kitchen(ie: cooking oil, dirt, water). Not only was the water purification experiment enjoyable for my 2nd grader but my kindergartener enjoyed it as well. So, it was a definite "crowd pleaser"(even for the adults involved). Also, there is more than one experiment included. So, you get more "bang for your buck" from that aspect while also getting another activity/experiment to do for another day. Although this was given as a gift, it would also work well for any homeschool, private or public school science curriculum. It is just an all around great buy!

Good quick project
Complex enough to engage kids but not frustrate them. The grandsons have received 6 of these kits and they love them all. They are simple to build and fun to play with. Affordable price. A nice project for child and parent if they are too young to build byj themself

Was really hoping for better
It's a bunch of flimsy plastic pieces, and the experiments don't work that well. The cloud maker barely works at all (we tried quite a few times, and it was almost noticeable twice). The water cycle thing had the wrong piece for the base so it was very hard to put together, and didn't have a hole in the mountain at all (which is referenced in the directions), so I ended up cutting one in the wrong place because there was no indication of where it was supposed to have been, and then when we followed all the directions it kept flipping over in the water. I finally filled the base with stones to weight it down, and even then the water cycle really wasn't apparent. So it definitely did not feel like value for money. Disappointing.

Great learning toy!
9 year nephew loved learning that energy doesn't always come from a battery

Guess I should’ve read the description.
I was looking for projects for my kids to pass the time this summer, I thought these would be the perfect thing. My issue with this product is that it’s missing a lot of the items needed to complete the project, which is big bummer.

Cool science but tiny product and too hard for children
Ok so the finished robot is TINY, see photo above. About two inches tall. The science is very cool, we enjoyed building the battery. I had to use google to look up how a magnesium air battery works as the explanation on the leaflet said little about that.My 9 year old was unable to do most of the work: it required adult strength to force the pieces to clip together (and work out the confusing leaflet instructions). So as a solo project to amuse a child it failed dismally. As an interesting performance for an adult to show a child, it did well.Would expect to pay £7-15 for this type of product.

Don't buy it
I couldn't believe how light the box was when it arrived, it was seriously like it was empty. It could have come in a matchbox. We got it made and it ran once and that was it. What a terrible rip off. Almost fifteen pounds … and for nothing. It really doesn't deserve even one star

Easy to assemble, works perfectly
Used this to demonstrate wind power for Cubs/Scouts. It worked perfectly as shipped, but I actually soldered the electrical connections and assembled the generator block to keep it simple for the younger ones.

Not great
It was ok, but you need tools to build it and not just the ones you have around

Nice toy
Easy to assemble and does generate a little but needs to loosen up to get better.
