These fit right...just use some elbow grease
I can see why some other reviewers would believe these fit too tight out of the box. They're actually not, and they are appropriately tight -- it's just that you need to physically squeeze the tops together at the point of insertion. With most (and I mean 99%) other competitors' shoe trees that are compression-based, you can just "jam" into the shoe tree into the shoe, and the pressure from the surrounding shoe will "squeeze the two halves together. Well, that tactic might not work with these trees...it seems that you may need to manually close the two halves together a half-second before fully inserting it into the shoe. It's possible that the manufacturer intended this in order to ensure the longevity of the spring (by having you do a little more work). So in terms of ease of use, I can see why this particular product might get lower scores, because it's not intuitive that you would need to use this type of effort. But even with this not-so annoying annoyance, I'm happy with these trees so far, as the tight fit really is what I want long term to ensure that my shoes are properly stretched between wearings.

Nice and solid shoe trees 🌲..Great customer service. 🙏🏻
I really like these shoe trees. They appear very well made and fit my Allen Edmond Park Avenue shoes very nicely. The fresh cedar smell is awesome 👏 and the knob pulls are easier to use when removing the trees than the flat wood handles used on other trees. For reference, the shoes are 11.5d and the large size Cedar Space trees worked perfectly for me. I will evaluate for a bit and if these work well I will be purchasing more.On the negative side, the price is a bit steep but the shoe tree quality is there. The company packaging box was somewhat flimsy and not up to par with the shoe trees.Overall, the shoe trees are excellent!!*****Update 3-17-2020*****I had an issue with one of the shoe trees which was taken care of by customer service. I received a replacement for the defective tree. It was greatly appreciated and apparent that this company stands behind their product. Thank you.

Seriously awesome shoe trees. Incredible value. Not shoe stretchers though.
I have purchased these multiple times in order to use them on the majority of my collection. For the price, it is really hard to find a better shoe tree. The wood is aromatic, its shape includes an instep, the heel is broader than average, and barrels and springs are well made and provide adequate tension without providing too much. As shoe stretchers these leave much to be desired as they have no lengthwise racheting system to provide stretch, only springs which is perfect for helping to maintain the shape of the shoe but useless for actually increasing the size. The toes appear to have a screw that would increase the width but I have found that unnecessary. I use these as shoe trees. They are fantastic shoe trees at a price of $20 per pair. Not really shoe stretchers. Woodlore does make a slightly better shoe tree for $30 a pair (the one that looks extremely similar to these, not their standard shoe tree), but the difference is basically a brass plate for branding and a wider heel. The wider heel is nice, but not worth the $10 difference. Unless these go up in price, they are the best shoe trees for the money that you can buy today.

Excellent product. Ordered more immediately.
Excellent product. By far the best shoe trees I have come across online. I wear a 12.5-13 US shoe and the fit was spot on - very snug and keeping the leather taut without excessive forcing or pressure. The heel shape and very smooth cedar make it easy to slide in place without damaging the heels, even with a tight fit. Excellent manufacturing quality. No issues with shoddy springs like you see with other brands. Also will do well with wider shoes (which I have). Wood has fresh, intense fresh cedar scent like it should have. After trying these out, I immediately ordered two additional sets.

Good product
These are the 1st shoe trees I own. While unsure of the practical aspect of a shoe tree, mainly based in not ever having owned a pair, I see the benefits after only several days of using this product.I own several good quality leather sneakers and wanted to keep them looking good for as long as possible as I could see the leather started to wrinkle around the toe-ball of foot area. I live in Florida, and the humid factor (sweat, rain) has a heavy impact in all shoes. These shoe trees fit correctly, great cedar smell and very smooth finish. I followed the shoe-size guidelines.I ordered 2 boxes (each box had 2 pairs of shoe trees ) One of the manufacturer's boxes arrived damaged inside the Amazon package but the product itself was not damaged, so no issues there. While it's been only a few days, I can see the leather in two of my (lighter, thinner leather) sneakers properly stretching and keeping its shape. So far, I am happy with this purchase and do not foresee any negative issues.
