It lasts for 4-5 hours per refill! Just as described. You can adjust the amount of smoke from light to heavy. When I opened the top of the Caha to check on my pork butts, smoke came pouring out! I couldn't even see into the box the smoke was so thick. Now this is a cold smoke, meaning if you want pork and so forth cooked you have to use the charcoal or other heating method. When I finished the pork butt had a very good hickory smoke flavor! I see people posting its difficult to light, not in my case, the instructions on the page and on the video are the same and it works. I tried to use it once but was unable to keep it producing smoke. I did not have time to dedicate to it at the time so I reverted back to my other smoker. The unit and cartridges have been store in an outside storage building for several years. I tried 2 different cartridges today while watching the youtube video. Still will not continue to produce smoke. A waste of time and effort.
