Corgi felt it was very important to relate the real-life experiences of veterans who fought in Vietnam. In the true spirit of the "Unsung Heroes" this series honors those who went off to war, did their job quietly, and served their country. It is not meant to glorify any one person or in any way to diminish the contributions of thousands of other men and women who served in Vietnam, each with their own stories as "Unsung Heroes." It is simply meant to serve as some insight into what the war was like for one soldier. Corgi plans to continue this series by encouraging other Vietnam veterans to tell their stories. It is Corgi's hope that this will serve to commemorate those unsung heroes whose stories died with them on the battlefield, let those who made it back know in some small way that they are not forgotten and inform others who were never there what the war was really like.
