This is a very nice looking stainless steel letter opener. It has a nice weight and works well.

Like virtually all money clips this one does not retain its shape after being stretched out by larger numbers of bills. Looks nice though... Just becomes useless.

I have been a little frustrated the last few years now, as my favorite and sharpest kitchen knives have gone missing. But in doing a recent deep cleaning of various rooms of my house for the recent holidays, I discovered that my husband was using my knives as letter openers! They would then get buried in his home office when he placed opened mail over them, or they would fall on the floor or he would put the knives in his desk drawer and forget about them. So I purchased this letter opener for his birthday and have told him to stop using my kitchen knives. He received my message loud and clear and actually loves this letter opener far more than my kitchen knives because it works so much better. It feels so good in your hand and is designed to open mail!

For the price, this is an excellent choice as a gift or for oneself . . . not sterling, so no need to worry about tarnishing, but it looks as elegant as sterling. I purchased it as a gift and had initials engraged--the engravers asked where I got it because it was obviously much nicer than the ones they had to offer--at a higher price. Once again, Amazon and Reed & Barton rock!

Heavy, attractive, easy to clean, good quality nickel but the blade is a bit thick for regular white envelopes. It works best for brown envelopes & packages
