I purchased the iGaging Digital Inside Caliper with Friction Join and Tension Adjustment to handle specialized internal woodworking and machining measurements, and it has been absolute perfection. The build quality is top-tier; the heavy-duty legs are rigid and perfectly machined, completely avoiding the flexing issues that plague cheap plastic alternative gauges. Ever wanted to know the thickness of glass used for a fish tank? This is your key to the answer! Fish tanks often have trim that keeps you from using a standard caliper on it. But with this, I can measure the glass without bothering with the trim. My only problem with it is that the measurements get so accurate, that it will change very quickly if there is ANY angle to the tool what so ever, while trying to measure. So 11/16th's may turn into 23/32nd's with the tiniest least-noticeable twist of the tool. And glass is often measured in "standard" sizes, even if they are off by a millimeter. So it's best to get to know the standards of thickness for what you are measuring so you can get it as close as possible to what you're reading.

I like it for $20. It is accurate enough as I gauged it against a slide caliper. I was concerned that it would not be accurate but it checked out fine at the 64th scale. The battery door would not stay closed right out of the package so I wired it in place with a wire tire from a bread bag. As I said with the 4 star rating. I am very happy for the price. If i was going to use the tool to help make money on at least an irregular basis I would consider the ones costing 10 to 20 times as much. In my case if I get to use it a few times over the rest of my life and it still works I won't complain much at all. Heck I got to use it once already. Jay

I am impressed with the workmanship and functionality of the device. I can now easily measure round spheres for my Etsy Business. Prior to this device I had to make estimates with my dial calipers. The measurement process is easy to use.

I turn a lot of wooden bowls, and this tool is perfect for measuring wall thickness and consistency. I have a number of iGaging measuring devices and all of them are innovative, durable and well-designed. They are priced reasonably and are a great value in my opinion. I highly recommend them to anybody working wood or metal.

I use this digital caliper to determine the wall thickness of the sidewalls and base of my lathe turning projects in order to prevent “blowout”. A very accurate and handy device which comes with a spare battery and has an “auto off” feature.

I ordered these calipers to measure various things but mostly for getting some outside measurements of various running shoes I have purchased. The calipers came in a one time use plastic package. Not any hard shell case to protect it against bumping and damaging. It does come with an extra CR2032 battery. The readout is LCD which is clear to read. The ON button also serves as the zero button. The left most button switches between millimeters and inches. I’ve had them for about 8 months now and I was a little surprised when I took them out to use them and the battery was already dead. Thankfully as I mentioned they came with an extra battery.

Makes things a lot easier coming up with measurements
