DO NOT use for guitar work!
After years of having StewMac and similar rave about using this for nut and bridge detailing, now I'm fairly certain folks were just looking for some sponsorship money. I'm pretty much going to leave the same review for all of the sizes I ordered because they all have the same problem. As you can see in the pics, this runs considerably smaller than advertised. It should be stated that they run +/- 20% on tolerance, because that's what I've found. This one is way smaller than spec and led to binding issues galore in my nuts and saddles. There are spots on the cord that touch .020". Most of the measurements were not even close to .030". Also, the material flakes off quite easily and dulls after one pass through bone or even plastic, let alone a metal saddle. I paid decent money for this roll. Should have ignored the hype and just bought a new file. Would last me a couple decades better than this will. Not worth the price.

Great for turned wood details
I used this cord for sanding turned details on spindles and armrests of a maple rocking chair. After I removed the finish using a stripping gel, there was some finish in narrow grooves, for which this cord worked perfect. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that the abrasive dulls very quickly and falls off the cord. I don't know if this is the case with other abrasive cords. Overall, it is a decent product, gets the job done.

Not for fine adjustmenst
Not the best this to use to sand a guitar nut or bridge saddles. you cant control the delicate depth that you will need and you cant reverse the outcome if you make a mistake. This will leave a lot of residue from the cord on the work surface.I opted for, cut and used 400 grit small pieces of automotive sand paper and got the results I was shooting for. my only dilemma is " what am I going to do with this abrasive cord now"

Get the right size. Use a micrometer.
Great stuff. We used it for cleaning the ring gaps in piston rings. Just be sure you get the correct size. No problems. Great service.

Does not live up to claims
I was disappointed with results of using on spindles for table.
