Monster: A Graphic Novel

It's hard to make a courtroom drama interesting on film, let alone a graphic novel. This was done brilliantly. It was engrossing, and I hung on every word. I decided to read it because of Guy Sims and the connection to the Brotherman comic book series. Brotherman was excellent, so I had high expectations for this...and was not disappointed. Good read. Very good read.

I am hoping to use this book in one of my 11 or 12 grade English classes in the next year or two. It's a perspective that most students in a rural area do not learn about nor see. I love that there is this graphic novel version as well as a play production version of it. Not only is the genre interesting to students, so is the way it is presented.

I bought this book because it's my son's 8th grade required core reading. Instead of checking out from Library old book, I got this for him. Book and prints are in very good condition. New version but everything else is same as books from school library.

I wanted to get back into reading. So I started off with this book. My mistake was not know what "Graphic Novel" mean. This book is written in a comic book style. I have no problem my only concern was did any wording was different from the original book. Overall good book.

Wow. Just Wow. To turn such a powerful story into something visual and frankly, more powerful. These brothers (literally, they're siblings) are a powerful team and need to take on more projects. This book got me so emotional and so mad and so hopeful all at once. The graphics show such expression in the faces, backgrounds, and various scene elements that it takes a long time to absorb each page. Give it the time it deserves! Don't rush through it.

Such a beautiful artistic representation of the standard novel of Monster. It’s refashioned and updated for a whole new audience. With such a great message I think it was brilliant to redo this novel as a graphic novel so that its message can be heard by a whole new generation!

My middle school boys loved this book. They called it relatable, interesting & "good" which really translates to great! Lol.The printing of this book was impressive, the illustrations were beautifully drawn and the colors were vibrant.

Regardless of whether one is guilty or innocent, it is hard to believe that the kid was falling asleep during the trial and his defense counsel had to wake him up. Cultural shock. True, for the kid, it must have been an overwhelming system, but sleeping during his trial must have looked impudent to the jury. Again, experienced many cultural shocks in this book.
