I am always surprised that these Sandclean Scrubbers are not more widespread in the United States. An innovation that the Japanese have used for years, it is my go-to pot cleaner instead of steel wool. Yes, sand is embedded in the fibrous scrubber, and that is what gives it the cleaning power. So, don't use on plastic or non-stick services. But you can use it much like you would use steel wool. The advantage is that it takes much, much longer to wear out before you need to replace it. And it is less harsh on your hands. You can add soap to it, on just use on a wet surface. Then rinse and dry, and it is ready to go at it again and again.
