Salomon Men's Outbound Prism GTX Hiking Shoes

Everyone’s feet are different but these work for mine very well. I’ve owned salomons before and learned that i like to go down half a size. I use them for primarily disc golf but also hiking, and some trail running. Great traction, even on somewhat slick surfaces like wet concrete, can confirm the Gore-Tex works, feel snug and secure but still comfortable, maybe a little tight in the toebox, if you have wide feet might want to try them on first. My feet are average width. They have a little extra protection going around the toes which i appreciate. I bought them on sale for $65. At that price they are amazing shoes!!

Comfortable

I usually only buy Salomons. These are spiffy looking sneakers and fit well, but the arch is weird. It is a bit uncomfortable because it seems too high. That might be OK, but the padding should go higher up on the inside at the arch. I still wear them, but I wouldn't run in them. I would not buy them again.

I have a terrible time finding B width men's running and walking shoes. These fit perfectly. Wore them in 4 different cities walking 3-5 miles a day. They were great.

Used for a few weeks daily, it still holds great so far and still looks new.Pros:- light- somewhat warmer than it looks (or is that a con?)- good grip on regular soil- looks really niceMehs:- a tad on the narrow side, though I don't mind it because the shoe's flexible. a slightly wider version would be perfect. I normally wear wide when the option exist (because it usually means the default is narrow), or regular when it doesn't (but some shoes are way too narrow sometimes - these aren't too narrow - they're just a bit on the narrow side if that makes sense)Cons:- terrible grip on flat ground (e.g. wet concrete) compared to the average

I bought these before moving to northern India during monsoon season. I knew I needed quality shoes with water-proof properties and good grip. I'm not sure I found either.The fit, style, and comfort of these are great. The mesh Gore-tex is also pretty cool. Initially, I dripped water on the top of the shoe and could see how incredible the material was at repelling moisture. However, in the real world of rain, rain, rain, I was left questioning the overall efficacy.Yes, in a lab or when you control the elements these shoes are waterproof. It's true. But when the rain is heavy or there's water running over the top of them (such as on the street when a torrent forms) they are mostly just shoes. I have been lucky to stay dry many times during moderate rainfall, but when the elements overwhelm these they just can't hold up and will be just as useful as any other shoe.Tread and grip are more disappointing. I bought these thinking I would be safer when walking on slick surfaces (these are meant for water after all), but I have actually felt quite unsafe many times. During monsoon there are many slick areas to walk, even on concrete, and I have lost footing several times on inclines. I have even fallen when walking on sheet metal on a roof when others around me were perfectly fine with their cheaper sneakers and flip flops. In this scenario I felt pretty shaken up as it could have turned out much more serious. I literally could not walk on this material with these shoes without slipping and sliding and couldn't have felt more foolish knowing how much I paid.In the end, they look great, they feel great, but I would ultimately recommend a different shoe if you're looking at heavy rainfall or slick surfaces.

These are very comfortable and durable I would recommend these for hiking and backpacking. They dry fast when they get wet. They are light to carry. Best shoes in this price range for their function.

These shoes worked out great on my hiking trip in the rain and wind. Highly recommended anyone looking for a pair of waterproof hiking shoes. Size fit perfectly too.

This product was pert

I usually go for Salomon because of quality and functionality. Unfortunately this ones are very uncomfortable, they are stiff and it's been a while wearing them thinking I would mold them. I bought them for not long distance walks but after 5 min in my walk I start feeling my soles sore and the sides of my feet achy and also the arch is too low, taking in consideration that my arches are not high neither do I have wide feet, I think they are too narrow. I'll continue buying Salomon in the future but definitely not this model.
