If there were instructions and enough screws I would definitely give this hive a five star rating. Putting it together was frustrating, and there are no instructions or predrilled holes. It is a quality sturdy hive with thick insulated walls. So far, the bees are doing quite well sitting with Alaskan Southern exposure. I plan to overwinter them, I will post again next spring.Common sense on the assembly. Really, I am much more into doing management because of how intuitive this hive makes it. Very little disturbance to the bees. I am actually impatiently waiting for Amazon to get more singles brood boxes.

Well since there are no instructions I watched a YouTube video on putting it together. Silly enough, I still did it wrong. We then had to pry it apart and start over.It holds standard Langstom frames. We ordered ours ahead of time but didn’t open the box until the bees arrived. We had to hammer the frames together while the bees waited. They weren’t happy.It’s a great box and I’m so glad we got something more insulated. I’m confident it will keep the bees nice and warm in the snowy months.They have been hard at work making and capping honey and building brood.I’m a little concerned about expansion. I would love it if I could purchase additional sections for the hive. Oh, the sections can be a little heavy to lift. But I imagine wooden sections get heavy too.Good luck!

I assembled this hive just like the instructions showed. However, weeks later, I see my frames have all collapsed in side and I've been left with a mess of burr comb and honey everywhere. I am using all standard frames, but the hive doesn't support them fully. They barely reach the end of the hive where it is supposed to support the edges of the frames, so they've collapsed into the hive. I have 5 hives, with this being the only one built by this company. I am dissatisfied with this product and would not recommend it.EDIT: This hive has only proved itself to be terrible. My return window closed (though I would love if the seller would contact me for a refund). It does not support my frames. Everything inside has collapsed and the hive is a mess.

So far so good. I installed my package bees 4/2. They seem happy. No instructions to put it together was challenging for the first hive. Second hive no problem. I’m using wooden frames so I don’t expect a problem. They seem to fit perfectly.
