Great Information
This book is a good read. I bought it to learn a little more about how to appropriately fuel my workouts, and I feel like I accomplished that. It has a lot of good information about how different foods and macros fuel your body which as far as I can tell is still up to date, just not flashy and "modern".It really helped me overcome my fear of food and to get rid of the stigma that some foods are "bad" and some foods are "good". I love her writing style and appreciated the pure scientific approach she took. That being said, it is definitely focused more towards tri-athlete events like running, swimming, biking. She does mention sports like football as well. I'm a weight lifter and functional trainer so I didn't find portions of the book all that useful. Still, I learned a lot and feel like it is a great resource to look back on.Highly recommend for anyone struggling with fueling their workouts or anyone who has plateaued.

A Really good book
I really liked this book. It gave me a lot of good information and knowledge about how important nutrition is to my sport and how I can put the two together to find a balance. It also gave a good basics knowledge about nutrition.

Useful
It is a very good book regarding eating. About half the book is recipes, so it's almost a cookbook with additional information. It is more focused on eating for endurance sport training, or training that is very cardio heavy. I don't do that kind of intensive training so it was less useful for me than I expected. Great information though!

I am very disappointed...
The author tries to sell something, which has never been worked. The book is full with old misconceptions, e.g. about fat, cholesterol, carbs. The author seems to live in the past, in the 80s/90s. I've given up after reading 10%, it was a waste of money.

Excellent
I have have read more books and articles on nutrition than I care to recall. This book was recommended to me by an elite athlete that works with Renee. I was pleasantly surprised. Rather than telling you what not to do or trying to prove the latest semi quack theory, it tells you what to do and how. Simple explanations and masses of recipes. Enjoyed it a lot.

Fantastic book - a must to improve the way you eat!
This is an awesome book - the first part discusses the science of sports nutrition for training with practical tips. This section is really clear and explains why it's good to think about nutrition as well as how to do so in a way that's easy to incorporate into everyday life. The second part has good recipes and is enormously practical. The recipes are easy to make and use sensible ingredients that I either have in my kitchen cupboards already, or are easy to get hold of. The recipes are straightforward, nothing faddy and all good wholesome stuff - oh and also yummy including snacks as well as meals. The book also suggests lots are alternatives to branded sports products (bars, gels etc), so I may never need to buy another branded bar ever again...

Good informative book
Brought it to explain to my teens that eating a banana for lunch and expecting to do 1.5hrs of sport in the evening is not good enough. It has turned out helping me too, so many things I thought were common knowledge are old thinking now.As a coach I recommend this to update the advice you're possibily giving out. As a parent, I recommend it to help kids have a healthy understanding of food. And as an athlete (very very loosely used term here), the book informs you how to make the better choices in your diet.

no ingredients you can't find in a normal supermarket and all delicious - the pancakes and bircher muesli have to be my favourit
I don't usually review on Amazon but this book is worth it. From the start it is very clear about each element and how to implement any changes or recommendations Renee makes in her book. Not to mention the recipes, no ingredients you can't find in a normal supermarket and all delicious - the pancakes and bircher muesli have to be my favourite. So if you want a simple, informative and useful guide to real sports nutrition by a qualified and caring dietician than this book is for you - you will be surprised how good you can feel even following these simple steps!
