The surface of the dome consists of millions of pores that measure 0.2 to 0.5 micron in diameter, while most bacteria is 0.5 to 1.0 microns in size. Honestly it shouldn't be too difficult.It isn't a compatability issue. The Zen filter sits in a hole in a plastic tank. So any fluoride filter (there aren't that many) that is made for a gravity water filter could be adapted by you. There's the risk you could screw up and damage your zen plastic tank, but they aren't that expensive to replace. However, it might be best if you consider this. Why not get a fluoride filter and pre filter your water in a separate container? Perhaps you could get a food grade 5 gallon pail and get another container that sits over it. Attatch your fluoride filter to this secondary container (that sits over the pail) and let it drip water into the pail? In that way you could remove fluoride in the first step, then filter the water through a zen filter. **Q: Is this a genuine Zen Water spare?** A: I do not believe that it is. With all the confusion, it seems there are counterfeits, and/or simply misnamed or misleading links. What I can tell you for sure is that this filter made my water taste terrible. Undrinkable. My tap water has no taste except for chlorine, which this filter, by itself, will not catch. After running through this filter, the chlorine is still there, but there is also an added nasty taste I cannot identify. No one in my house will drink water that has come through this filter.
