It's extremely liberating, cutting one's own hair
I have to look presentable two or three times in a year so the hassle and expense of having my hair cut in a salon is unwarranted. I decided to take a year to figure out how to cut my own hair and not end up outrageously odd looking. I'm only a couple of haircuts into the project but have already learned a few things. One is to not go overboard with the thinning shears. What I want is a very short bob, something I've never been able to get from a stylist. Don't know why, they just won't. So I bought a silicone swim cap and by wearing it while I cut I can get an even bottom edge to my hair and it's exactly the length I want. It's short enough now to curl now and that helps to disguise errors. Anyway so far so good. My hair is fine and thick and these shears are a little bigger then what I had so they're an improvement. I received two shears, regular and thinning, two hair clips, a cleaning cloth, all in a zippered case that hopefully is not real leather. I did not receive the tightening tool but the shears feel fine the way they are so not a problem.

Not Professional, but Good Value for What You Get
Bottom Line: Great starter set. It's not professional, and there's better quality out there, but it is a great value for what you get.Overall, this was one of the best values I was able to find for a set of hair cutting scissors and comb. I'm fairly new to hair cutting and wanted to get something that was reasonably priced as a starter set. The comb is pretty low quality, but I'm pretty happy with both pairs of shears / scissors. Some Tips1) The hair thinner can potentially grab and pull hair, make sure to cut evenly and all the way through2) After cutting with the thinners, open up the scissors to help make sure no hair is pulled3) I would recommend getting a better comb, it's pretty thin and small; good for combing out loose hair, but not great for helping fade hair when using clippers.4) There is a tiny microfiber(?) rag piece that comes with the set, I'm not sure what it is for and haven't used it (perhaps its to wipe down the scissors and comb?)I'm only cutting boys hair, so I can't attest to the quality of the hair clips, I've never used them. I can imagine they would be useful if you're cutting / layering longer hair and want to keep parts of it out of the way.

Lovin' it!!!
I bought these scissors for $13.59 and they are absolutely worth it. It is very sharp and the texturizing shears are really handy for giving the layered look.It came nicely packaged with its own carrying case in a "ziplock-ed" bag and the two bonus duckbill clip is helpful with hair parting. Already it has saved me from costly salon trims( as that's usually all I get and still the charge is the same for a hair cut or a trim at $16.00 a pop) by purchasing these and doing my own trim/layering at home. If ever I need a different hair style, I will then go to a salon, but in the mean time, I will be enjoying these scissors doing my own hair trimming and my daughters as well. So glad I bought these.UPDATE: I used these scissors strictly for trimming hairs. I cleaned it immediately after each use. 5 years later, they still work. Still sharp too. I did lose the ziploc bag but I still have the case and the zipper hasn't given out on me.

Pretty Decent
These scissors I bought to cut my cosplay wigs, however they do not cut synthetic hairs the way I had wanted to though. Although since the product was not listed to be meant for that it shall not alter my review. They cut paper almost too well, real hair I feel they cut very well as well. Though I could probably find better hair cutting scissors I feel I could find better hair cutting scissors, although they are nice almost doppelgangers of real hair cutting scissors. If you are looking to use these for a business I suggest getting more expensive kits, they are worth it. I do use the comb though with my wigs all the time though, in fact i'm using it to style my current wig, it helps getting even the smallest of tangles out and i'm sure it will do the same with regular human hair. As for why it's an average rating the volume scissors just don't *cut* it for me. (See? Even I can joke people.) They just aren't very good at what they are meant for. I also use the big clips a lot too, so glad I got this since I got more good things than bad things in this purchase.

Solid product with reasonable price.
Good:- All you need in small package with a reasonably low price- Packaging is of high quality. Feels like a premium product.- Very sharp scissor and shears; they do the job well, assuming you are not trying to cut a lot of hairs in one go. Go slow, go easy!Good/Bad:- The Thumb Finger Hole is small. This can be an issue for those with thick thumbs. Even a relatively small hand with somewhat thicker thumb will get stuck in there. Though that is not an issue as taking out the thumb from the grip isn't difficult. On the other hand, the firm grip means you will not drop the scissor or shears by accident! I am not going to give a low rating for this reason, as it depends on individual's hand. I don't put my thumb all the way in, so that's not an issue.

Don't pay for what you can do yourself
I am sorry to any stylists reading this, but I have had too many terrible haircuts to trust a salon anymore. Of course, maybe that was just me being dramatic about my long hair. Either way, now that I like my hair short, I feel that it is better to cut it myself, that way if it is messed up, I only have myself to be angry at. These are worlds better than craft scissors, or course, but you really can tell a difference,e especially when thinning the ends to avoid any blunt cuts. Big fan! And the case they come in is also really nice and easy to store so I always know where to look when I get snip happy. Would highly recommend, even if just for trims in between professional cuts if that is your cup of tea.

Value for money, arrived on time
Admittedly, I have absolutely no experience with cutting my own hair... apart from that time according to my mum when I was very young and gave myself a haircut, this i do not remember... anyway, I went for it tonight with this kit and I am really pleased with how it turned out!I'm so glad I spent the money on these instead of just using any old scissors.Fantastic price for what you get!Lockdown haircut sorted and no regrets!

Disappointed
Delivered on time. Product looked good. But when my wife tried to cut my hair. They pulled rather than cut my hair. They didn't cut very well at all. To be onnest I have not sent them back for exchange or refund. So do not know if this was a one off. As the other reviews were good.
