Excellent fan. Worth the money.
A really good window fan. It moves a lot of air relatively quietly. I like it so much that I've bought several, this one was for my son's house which doesn't get much natural airflow. With this fan exhausting through a window on his stairway he has a nice breeze through open widows both upstairs and downstairs. It's made a world of difference for his young kids to sleep at night.

Really pulls some air
Really pulls some air out the place. No issues. I'm a big open window/fresh air guy, to a fault even as I let tons of pollen in but this fan is the best consumer grade window fan you can buy as far as power and air flow goes. It's not overly loud either.

First one was DOA
7/6/17 : Fan motor died last night. We got four years of seasonal use out of this unit. I installed it and left it in the window all year long. So for about 3.00 a month this unit saved me what we'd spend on electric for central air or 3 window units in our house + the initial cost of the AC units themselves. We think it was worth it. Will buy again. This unit works the best if its kept clean. Ours got alot of dirt build up on the frame and blades. Also dirt accumulates on the window screen where air is pulled in from outside. If those three things are kept clean (Maybe 2 hours of clean up at the end of each season) the unit moves air like new each season. May 2016: The first one we recieved was fryed, right out of the box. The box had a big dent in one corner. The fan itself looked fine but only 3 of its six speeds worked. The fan didnt have a template with it either. Amazon shipped me a new one right away. The second arrived in better shape, no major dings or dents to the box. Some of the screws were missing so I had to pirate from the DOA fan. But it did have the template which made installation a snap. The fan works fine now. Cools the downstairs down pretty quick in our 1000 sq ft. home. (We dont use our upstairs much). We've had it about 3 weeks and no problems, as long as we remember to keep enough windows open in the house when its on exhaust. Its a powerful fan and the motor strains if you dont give it enough supply air, creating some noise. Thats operator error NOT a manufacturer defect! I'd still recommend this to anyone with a smaller home that wants to cool their home on sub 85 degree days. Eighty five and up, especially with humidity...turn on the AC.

Totally Awesome Fan.
Awesome Fan. We had actually bought two of these fans 40 years ago. About 5 years ago the last fan gave up the ghost and stopped working. We were looking for a similar type of fan when we stumbled across this one. We ordered it and were shocked (and very pleased) to see it was the exact fan we had already had. With the upper 90 degree days we have had we needed a fan to cool off our living room. This fan works perfectly, let me tell you! We even still had the screws in the window. Five great big Stars on this one.โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

Now This is a Real Window Fan !!!
I have wasted so much money on those small cheap window fans that after you get them placed in the window and turn them on, you can't even feel any difference. I got so fed up that I finally decided to get this full sized window fan and now I have plenty of air flow. You can put it on exhaust to pull out the heat and then reverse it to blow inwards to keep cool air blowing in. I have read some reviews where there were complaints about noise but I just got a roll of that sticky foam and put it along the sides of the fan where it was going to touch my window frame and then screwed it into place firmly and I get no rattle or excess noise. Now if you turn this on high it isn't going to be completely silent but what good fan is. On medium or low you barely notice it. No remote, you turn it off and on or adjust the speed with the dial right on the fan. I have gotten many fans that come with remotes and they always end up wearing out too quickly and then won't work so this is just fine with me without a remote.

You don't get what you pay for, but it's still pretty good.
Seems like an excellent fan, the shroud and mounting however... I guess you just don't get what you pay for anymore. Rattling plastic and screws that self loosen because of it. Some cheap foam strips or folded cardboard helps tremendously. Shame it's not included with the fan. Also ... The design is nice, being able to open or close the window, however... You don't have good access, so if you've got old stuff windows, good luck, you're gonna scratch your arm up.

The unit operates well and produces a significant amount of air flow.
The first unit I received was missing screws at the 6 oโclock and 8 oโclock positions. After several email exchanges with Air King (a Lasko Family of Products brand), I was informed by Christine that โit is normal for this particular screw not to be included with the unit.โ I found this explanation rather surprising. For reference, I have included the contents of her email below: -- Christine (Lasko Family of Products): We truly appreciate your patience while we looked into your request, and we want to provide some clarification regarding the screw you are looking forโa #6 x 5/8". After reviewing your request, we regret to inform you that we are unable to send out the specific partโa #6 x 5/8" screwโas it is not one we carry for direct distribution. This particular part is a standard item that can typically be found at most local hardware stores. We completely understand this may not be the most convenient solution, and we sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause. It is normal for this particular screw not to be included with the unit, as it is considered a standard hardware item intended to be purchased separately at local hardware stores. This allows users to select the appropriate fasteners based on their specific installation needs. -- Due to this, I decided to order a second unit. Interestingly, the replacement arrived with all screws properly installed. Unfortunately, the new unit is not as well-balanced as the original. However, this is a minor issueโit does not produce any noise, though it does exhibit some vibration at higher speeds. There was a gap between the window and the fan, which I easily resolved by modifying a pool noodle to fill the space. The window can be easily closed when the fan is not in use. The fan mounted quickly and easily in the window.

ran for 3 minutes and died!
I ordered 2 of these fans for my garage. I installed one fan in my window and turned it on. While I was installing the other fan this one started making noises and just stopped running. The motor was still going. I uninstalled it and while putting it back in the box I heard rattling in the fan and a washer fell out. I didn't even bother putting the other fan in the window after that. I have boxed them up and returned both of them.

Great product
I have bought this fan 3 times over the past 10 years. Love it. Fits my window perfectly. I 've had it on low Exhaust all day every day even in the winter. Any one that wants to have odor free air in their room needs to try this fan for them selves

Love. It. Love it.
Negative air pressure ftw. We have it installed in the 3rd floor attic window. All it takes is opening a window on the first floor, on the shady side of the house and the fresh air streams through the entire house. You can literally feel the breeze. It greatly helps cooling and airing the entire three floors. Would totally recommend it.

The Best Window Fan I've Used
This is a real window fan. It's powerful and quiet...unfortunately it was far too large for my window and had to be returned. Air King should really make a 9 inch smaller version of this fan. No other fan comes close to this one...
