A Spotlight on the Logistics of War
When people look at any war they focus on the front line action. The trenches, the titanic battles. However as Napoleon succinctly put it, “An army marches on it’s stomach” meaning it needs the necessary supplies to be able to fight. During the Great War the fledgling Royal Flying Corps needed serviceable aircraft to fight and this book shines a light into the hitherto unacknowledged efforts of the many men who kept the machines flying. Well done Mr Williams.

Grateful for the insights, I'd like more
A quick read. It provides insights into the logistics of WW1 aviation in France. It also hints at the technology that was evolving around aviation circa 1915. In my opinion the latter is an under appreciated topic. I wish more information was available about the technology and the people that made flying possible vs. focus on the aces.
