Star Wars: A Musical Journey Episodes I-vi

I'm an intermediate, adult-aged Trumpet player and I get so much pleasure playing from this book!The American "Level 2-3" rating is somewhere around UK Grade 5-6 although there are certainly a range of difficulties throughout the book (with difficult high/low notes covered by an easier alternative note, which is what is played on the demo) - there's an interesting range of time-signatures including "The Arena" which is rhythmically very tricky and frequently changes time, also "Battle of the Heroes" which not only alternates mainly between 3/2 and 2/2 time but also gives a good workout on the upper register.The volume level on the CD is unfortunately quite low, so compared to my other play-along books, I really have to crank the volume up - This may be a problem if you're using a small low-powered system. The backing tracks are synthesised but done to a pretty high standard.Most of the pieces were originally for other instruments but have been well adapted for Trumpet - I'm guessing that in order to make the key signatures a bit easier, some pieces have been transposed from their original key. 'Battle of the Heroes' is in the original key so I sometimes play along with the real piece although there is a longer gap in the original where you find a 5 bar rest noted in this book.Ironically, the pieces I've found that I play the least are the best known ones.

An amazing booklet for those learning trumpet and wanting to play the tunes from Star Wars!

These pieces range from about UK ABRSM Grade 4 - 6.Some involve technical parts, other very high and challenging notes.Brilliant for me as I love the music form the series, and have just got back into playing the Trumpet recently.Would recommend for new players, and experienced players.

Very good for beginners - not quite what I wanted as it was a present for an experienced player.I should have looked at the description more thoroughly

Been looking to get some more music for a long time. Who doesn't love a bit of Star Wars? Nice printing and the audio disc is great quality
