Q: What cable do i use to use the rode video mic pro with a cell phone? i have tried everything, but no sound.

Purchase the Rode SC7 TRS to TRRS cable. The problem is that the microphone on any mobile device has to know that you are wanting to record. On any cable that does "TRRS" you have an extra connection that will work 100% of the time. That's the reason is the extra connection for that specific type of cable allows you to plug it into any video mic that you are wanting to record to a mobile device with.

Q: So i want to use this for my gopro so i'll just use this cable and adapt it to the mini usb/ 3.5 mm adapter: will this work? or too many connections

You have to use the USB to 1/4" adapter that GoPro sells first. if you do that and this cable you will be fine but remember you also need to put a microphone on the other end to record audio.

Q: Does this cord work for the rode video micro?

My guess is it probably should.
