Q: After you fill it, should the levels be equal?

Ours is 20+ years and instructions are to keep the level 1 inch above the base of the stem, overflowing is a solid indication of storm severity. To maintain level after overflow use an eye dropper.

Q: need funnel to add water?

I generally don't use any funnel. I use food coloring so I can see the water level...put a few drops in the spout. Then, I turn the glass on it's side with the funnel pointing up and gently let the water flow from my kitchen faucet into the barometer. You need to have the barometer on it's side so air can go out and water go in pretty much at the same time (just like using a gas can for your lawn mower). It may take a little longer but it works for me every time.

Q: I am actually only interested in buying two of the wall mount/drip cups. Would this be possible? If yes, what would it cost?

on Amazon you can find numerous sellers & brands that offer a large selection of weather glasses in a variety of shapes, from simple rain drops to swans, and sizes (as small as necklace pendants) with just as much cost variety, from under $20 and up. to find the glass without a bracket, or stand; I suggest entering "replacement" weather glass in your search query.

we do not provide the liquid. it is just water and food coloring.
