Absolutely Phenomenal Calipers!
Absolutely Phenomenal Calipers! I bought these to replace some Snap On Calipers I had which recently got stolen. I didn't have high expectations considering these were a quarter of my Snap On's cost. I'm significantly surprised. The screen is way bigger, they're super smooth, the tolerances are tighter than my Snap On calipers, (I have to oil them practically every use) I'm hoping they'll break in a bit. The read speed limitation is practically non existent, if they're oiled you can open and close them seriously fast and they'll hit perfect numbers every time. It does an 'auto fraction mode' (for lack of a better term) where it will pull the proper imperial fraction of what you're measuring even if you are slightly off, or move it +1mm or -1mm. It's only on the fraction mode, when you first open them it'll measure exactly, but as soon as you get close to 3/8 of an inch for example it'll show 3/8 for about a mm in each direction, only on the most used fractions also, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and so on. I personally like that a lot, instead of giving you an outlandish fraction just because you're slightly off. As far as the data output goes, I have no experience with it, or if it works well or not. I didn't buy them for that purpose, I can't really see the benefits of using it. I bought the 12" Digital Calipers, and I sincerely love them. So far these have absolutely dominated any calipers I've used, in every aspect. So if they last through year's of heavy use, then these will be the best set of digital calipers I've ever owned... Definitely would recommend these 100% Jake... 3-1-20

100% Accurate, reliable, coolant resistant, and well worth your money. Buy them without hesitation!
I have used these for 8 working days. The zero reset is so far off its ridiculous. The measurement display sometimes doesn't even work when moving the jaws open slowly for the first 2 inches, then the indicated measurement jumps to 21+ inches. The measured reading many times "runs away"...it starts off looking like a normal reading, then just keeps on climbing. When it does work, the reported measurement is so far off it makes these calipers worthless. Look at the image above.....does that look like 47.662 inches to you? And I thought these were 12 inch maximum. Complete junk. And just in case someone mentions using a fresh battery, it was just bought and installed. Don't waste your money on this junk, and buy Mitutoyo. Yeah, they are much more expensive, but when you need your calipers to work, Mitutoyo always works, unlike these which may or may not work. If you can't trust them, which I can't, they are worthless. I have until Sept 8 to return these, and if the seller will contact me, I'd like to try an exchange set. I really like the fraction feature, and want these to work properly. UPDATE September 28: This afternoon I emailed the company asking about an exchange for my problem calipers. Within a few minutes I had a reply, and they are sending me a replacement set to try. So for now, the rating goes from 1 Star to 3 Stars for their excellent and quick customer support. If the new set works as advertised, they will be a 5 Star set of calipers. Stay tuned! UPDATE October 1: Since speaking with Vick at Clockwise tools on Friday September 28 (late in the evening), I received a replacement caliper in the mail late today. That was fast! And it came with a Calibration Certificate, which is a welcomed plus. I didn't have the time to test it in real life, but will check it against the shop's Calibrated Gauge Blocks tomorrow. I don't know if it was just me, but this caliper had a much better feel to it than the first set. I'll run it for a week or two and report back. UPDATE October 14: In the past two weeks, I have used these calipers 100% of the time, after I checked them on the shop's gauge blocks. These are spot on as far as calibration goes. After two weeks, they have performed flawlessly. No measurement jumps, no runaway measurements, or any of the other problems I had with the first set. I'd like to thank Vick at Clockwise for his help and generosity in providing a new, calibrated set. These are accurate, easy to use (love the fractional readout) and well worth the money. I see no reason you shouldn't buy these, and if you happen to get a bad set as I did, rest assured Vick at Clockwise Tolls will make it right. 5 Stars, and a great value set of calipers.

Excellent budget caliper
These could be what you're looking for if you need a 12" digital caliper and you don't want to spend many hundreds of dollars for a big name brand. I actually own multiple pairs of the much more expensive calipers (Starrett & Mitutoyo) but I bought these to use in an environment that is dirty, hot, and not friendly to precision measuring tools. I didn't want to ruin my more expensive tools if I didn't have to. Overall pleased with the fit, finish, and function of these calipers. So far so good and I am not worried about beating them up. We will see how long they last. A year later, still going strong after daily use in aforementioned harsh environment. I will but another pair if the need arises.

Great Tool
I'm going to be honest. I bought this and only used it a few times before it sat for a year. When I wanted to use it again the battery was dead. When I replaced the battery only a few lines for the numbers showed up and faded away after a few seconds. I tried multiple batteries and had the same results. What I didn't realize is they offered an additional 1-year warranty. I contacted them about it and without hesitation they sent out a replacement. The tool is fantastic and very accurate, but now, after my experience with their support, I completely recommend getting this product.

Hard to open clamp
I really wanted to like the clockwise micrometer when it arrived. Packaging was nice and I did really like the storage container that it was in. Upon taking out of the box, it looked brand new with an adhesive plastic covering the screen. However, when I was trying to open the clamp with the knob, it was really stiff and seemed like it was stuck. I literally had to push the screen down while using the knob. Than once it got past like 2 inches or 3 inches, the knob worked smoothly again. However, once I got down to the 10 inch mark, the knob got really stiff again and it made extending the micrometer impossible. It basically opened up to 10 inches only instead of the 12 inches. Even an attempt to close the micrometer all the way back I had difficulty. There were no dents or flaws that I could tell on the micrometer. Not sure if I had a flaw on mine but back to the seller its going. Hard to believe that it had such good reviews also.

I like it, but it does not remember position (absolute vs incremental encoder)
Most electronic calipers I've used have an absolute encoder which means you can turn the display off and then back on at any position along the travel and the value shown does not change. This caliper model's encoder is incremental. That means if you power it off or it shuts off to save the battery (an excellent feature, by the way), it does not remember it's position. If I were a person who used a caliper tool all day/every day then I'd probably make sure to get one with absolute positioning. As a casual user (engineer who sometimes uses it for measuring parts and making drawings of them), this is certainly good enough for my needs. If you lose a measurement value due to power down, you can just zero the caliper and take it again. For me, that's a little annoying but not a big deal since I don't take measurements constantly all day. Overall, though, I really do like it and recommend it for a majority of users as long as that possibility of losing position between measurements isn't an issue for you. Build quality on this is very good and the construction has a nice heft to it. It's a very useful tool. Also, I like the ability to switch a measurement from millimeters to decimal inches to fractional inches. Decimal inches to mm is normal, but the option for fractions on the display is a cool feature and makes this model very unique. This model also has some software/USB features that could make it highly useful for some people, but won't be something I am likely to use. Final verdict: This is a well made product sold at a good price. I like it and would recommend it.

Probably the best value in an accurate digital caliper!
This digital calipers set comes with a very nice hardshell plastic case, a very large and easy-to-read display, and the controls are easy to use as well. Sure, you could purchase a slightly more accurate (maybe) digital calipers from the famous Swiss or Japanese brands, but for my purposes (measuring cactus/succulent plant diameters) it's a great purchase. Out of all of the less expensive options out there, I really think that Clockwise Tools is the best choice.

Affordable 12" Caliper
Just received this item and it is great. Typical caliper of this type and quality are more than double the price. It comes in a protective plastic case. Its 12" reach is something every DIY hobbyist needs in their tool's drawer. I've purchased several tools this year and this must rank among the top 2 best buys.
