Worst purchase ever!

Not even for completists, this jumble pulls together a collection of primarily Tyrannosaurus Rex recordings and if it weren't for the title track might have been called something else. The latter T. Rex tracks are as out of place as the loose cannon John's Children track, Desdemona. The music's great, this collection isn't. Buy the albums the tracks came from.

I'd forgotten how much I like Marc Bolan and T.Rex . This CD has all the songs I know & like, plus loads of material I've never heard. I was born in '74 so don't remember first hand T.Rex when they were at their height, but Bolan's talent certainly makes an impact and the legacy is enduring. This CD is great it came bang on time & as you can tell there are certainly no complaints. Long live the memory of Marc Bolan.

Of the many T. Rex compilations out there, 'Get It On' is certainly one of the more unusual ones given that the majority of the material is gleaned from the early Tyrannosaurus Rex era (1967-70) and includes the lovely 'Debora' which is so often ignored by compilers of these albums. 1971's 'Electric Warrior' is well catered for with hit singles 'Get It On' and 'Jeepster' although the real purpose of this collection is to introduce the listener to the more esoteric, acoustically-flavoured sounds of the late 1960s. Well worth buying especially at a bargain price.

Great collection

Randomly recently just took an interest in T Rex after watching a performance of 'life's a gas'. Lovely collection ranging over the years, a couple of the better known tracks are not on this but I like that the earlier tyrannosaurus rex songs are featured, giving me the chance to explore the different faces of Marc Bolan's song writing. Arrived promptly in great condition.
